Mario Party Wii Battles Against Hot Shots Golf PS3 in Japan
Following the news that retailers had pre-ordered 300,000 copies of Minna no Golf 5 on PS3 and 500,000 units of Mario Party 8 for Wii, both games have now hit Japan and their first day sales have been revealed.

Another RPG Success on DS
Quick News - According to reports, Success (the team behind Touch Detective) has announced that it will be bringing a sequel to the quirky RPG 'Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja' to DS. The first has yet to reach European shores.

Nintendo Takes 41/50, Dragon Quest Wii Sold Out
The Japanese software and hardware numbers have now been revealed and show how Nintendo has taken a massive 41/50 places this week, and that Dragon Quest Swords has well and truly sold through its initial shipment.

Super Paper Mario Hits 1.25 Million!
Quick News - Japanse trade journal 'Nihon Kogyo Shimbun' has revealed that Nintendo has already sold 1.25 million copies of the GameCube upgrade of Super Paper Mario for the immensely popular Wii console. With around 500,000 of those sales coming from Japan, it is obvious just how popular the US release has been and the PAL release is still around the corner.

Dragon Quest IV DS and Bionic Commando Remakes, Level 5 DS RPG?
Quick News - The latest EGM rumours from the US state that a Bionic Commando remake is being worked on; Level 5 has four RPGs ready to show off at TGS in September and the DS will be included as part of the line-up; Square Enix wants to do Dragon Quest remakes, starting with DQIV for DS, which will be revealed soon!

VC Releases: Kirby Meets the Devil
Quick News: Following the US Virtual Console releases earlier this week, PAL gamers also get to play with Kirby in Kirby's Ghost Trap (SNES, 800pt) and enjoy pinball antics with the TG16 classic Devil's Crush (TG16, 600pt).

Zack and Wiki Dated, Reduced Price?
Quick News: The much hyped Wii project from Capcom, Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbados, has been dated and priced according to a listing on GameStop. The site suggests a retail price of $39.99 with an estimated release of October 16th 2007.

Quick News - US publication Nintendo Power has been providing us with a Top 5 for each Virtual Console system in that region, and this month it reveals them for the TurboGrafx16: 1.) Bomberman '93, 2.) Bonk's Adventure, 3.) Dungeon Explorer, 4.) Splatterhouse and 5.) R-Type.

Nintendo Announce Q1 Earnings
Nintendo have announced their Q1 Earnings; including an increase in Operating profit and net income, with a general increase in demand for the company's Wii and DS consoles and software.

Mario Party UK Wii Re-launch Coming
Quick News - Following the pulling of Mario Party 8 on Wii in the UK due to an offensive word slipping into 2% of the copies sent out, Nintendo UK has revealed the official re-launch will come on 3rd August. No doubt those with the initial version will class them as a collector's item now...

Okami on Wii Possible, but Unlikely
Capcom's Keiji Inafune was recently questioned on the possibility of the highly regarded Okami heading to Wii, given speculation and rejection since the console's release, revealing it could be possible but is unlikely.

Star Trek Soars to Wii?
Quick News: A listing on retailer site GameFly seems to suggest Star Trek: Conquest is heading to Nintendo's ickle white box, developed by Bethesda Softworks. No further details have been revealed, but the game's existence does seem legitimate.

Nintendo of America's George Harrison recently discussed a range of Wii/DS issues, from the various zapper related projects from third parties to Wii Ware, but more interestingly hardware revisions and third pillars.

Donkey Xote Heads to DS
Quick News: Spanish studio Revistronic is working on a DS version of the film Donkey Xote, taking a mini-game structure with the usual film-inspired elements. Donkey Xote is due for Christmas 2007.

Check Mii Out by September
Quick News: In a recent interview with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, he confirmed that the company intends to rollout the Check Mii Out ratings channel by the end of September 2007. Other Wiiconnect24 features are also said to be in the pipeline.

US VC Releases: Kirby's Dream Course, Devil's Crush, Shining Force
Threee new titles have hit the US Virtual Console service, a pink puffball, pinball wizarding antics and the battle against evil-dooers are among the games available to download from today.

Jam with the Band and Jump Super Stars for Europe in 2007?
Quick News - A rumour has cropped up stating Jump Super Stars and Jam with the Band will finally hit the DS in Europe this coming Winter, with the official announcement coming at the Leipzig Convention in Germany next month. Out of interest, the source knew about Bully for Wii a week before the announcement and works for EB Games in Germany.
