Nintendo Media | Smash Update: Castle Siege Level Revealed

By Jorge Ba-oh 02.08.2007 17

Continuing the Fire Emblem trend, Nintendo have updated the Official Smash Bros. Dojo website with look at the castle level shown in past trailers.

The Castle Siege level depicts a classic scene from the Fire Emblem series, a huge, towering building with fireballs launched from catapults littering the skies. After some time the floor crumbles and players sink deep inside the castle. The interior is made up of breakable statues that allow for some environmental havoc! But that's not all: the castle sinks and players are sent deep underground, but what mysteries remain?

Nice one - what I think is interesting here is Samus - unless she's just there for an example purpose; would she really be there so early on in the level? (so maybe you can get her without Final Smash?)

I'm loving the multi-tiered stuff - ace!

Definitely! It's good to have a timed tier as with Hyrule Castle it got a bit tricky when it zoomed out so much. Hope to see more of these! They could have really done this with other revealed levels though; would have loved to duel in Lake Hylia in the Eldin Bridge level..

Finally something more then a basic level! I must play this game!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems like this week is a Fire Emblem one. Love the level, finally something that is not as basic.

Looks awsome! I check the website everyday to see whats new.

If you want to trade in Diamond,Pearl, and Platinum I will trade to get a Munchlax, Charmander, Squirtle, Chikorita, Cyndaquil. If you do pm me. Also if you have Metroid prime Trilogy we can trade friend vouchers.

Yeah, I like it.

Good stage, more of this Nintendo

It's a good stage, I know we've been seeing it since the 1st trailer, but we didn't know what it would be based on, I guess they wanted this one out of the way, so they revealed Ike & this days next to each other.

It sure didn't look like a Zelda stage, did anyone else guess it was gunna be a Fire Emblem stage?

Anyway, it looks like a cool stage, I didn't know that statue place was part of the same level!

& following the AC item + stage, they need to reveal K.K. next week Smilie

EDIT: & as for Samus, I think she's just there for example, they always choose random characters, or maybe just use the newer ones more often. Y'know?

That's an awesome stage! The one we've all been waiting for likely. I like it bunches, especially the idea of fighting inside the castle.

I just want to know what the fecking underground section looks like. Hopefully they'll reveal it tomorrow - maybe this is Fire Emblem week?

Well, the first 2 updates this week weren't Fire Emblem related. I don't think they'll reveal the underground level as a seperate stage. I think they'll randomly reveal it in screens describing other things, or we'll have to wait for a trailer/wait for release :-/

It looks great, loving the theme behind it all. I hope other levels evolve in a similar way also and that it's just not cosmetic, I want enviroments like this that effect how everyone plays during a stage of the castles demise. {LS]

Awesome! I wonder if it eventually leads back up above ground and outside the castle, or just stays underground... probably the latter, oh well, still a pretty nice change from the recent stages.

Sweeeeeeeeet. What a lovely stage! Smilie

Ooh, a nice level Smilie

I just noticed how tiny Samus is compared to Yoshi even! Especially small compared to Donkey Kong!

Indeed, I noticed that as well when I first saw the screenshots on Smash Dojo. The non-human characters definitely seem bigger this time around.
