Nintendo News | Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Joins Japanese VC

Quick News: An exciting update to the Wii's Virtual Console lineup in Japan brings Sega's much loved favourite Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (Genesis/Mega Drive) to the mix, along with Hudson's Ordyne (TG16) and Nintendo's early sports titles Volleyball (NES).

Stick with C3 for more VC goodies...

No-one should want Sonic 3, everyone should be waiting for S3&K really.

But this means that surely it won't be long until SMB3 appears on the NES as well...since Sonic 1 and 2, plus SMB 1 and 2 have now both arrived.

I bet we'll likely see Mother (NES) or Mother 2 (SNES) appear in Japan in the not too distant future as well.

I already have Sonic 3 on the Sonic Mega Collection for GameCube, so I'm not really jealous. Smilie

And PSP/PS2 owners will have it in the Sega Mega Drive Collection, no doubt. But still, good to see it on VC now...wonder how long until it reaches Europe and the US?

With the 3 sonic games appearing and Sonic and Knuckles to follow (I presume), will there be a way to download Sonic 3 and Knuckles? Could Nintendo make it so that if you've downloaded both, you can download the lock on game for free?

But that defeats the object of being able to spend more money on games that most people probably already have/never really wanted to play.

It's all about the modern-nostalgia, innit. Being able to play ancient games on a new-gen machine.

I've been wondering about that myselfSmilie What is nintendo going to do so S&K can be docked on with S1, S2, and S3
