Nintendo News | Eidos Brings Monster Lab RPG to Wii

By Jorge Ba-oh 27.08.2007 5

Eidos have announced a dark, cartoony action RPG complete with crazy monster types and Wii-filled motion action.

  • Action RPG, with online battles/trading, developed by Backbone Entertainment.
  • Pokemon-inspired RPG gameplay. Battle system is more complex than Pokemon, but not as in-depth as other titles. Players can destroy monsters piece by piece.
  • 150 monster "types", allowing for more than 100 million possible variations. For example - mechanical, biological and chemical.
  • Create/modify different monsters.
  • Play as one of three scientists: Professor Fuesless, mechanical expert; Dr Sandabar, biology specialist, or; Dr Tchesombra, chemistry expert.
  • Writing by comic writer, Adam Beechen
  • Dark, cartoony artwork.
  • Contains a range of mini-games.
  • June 2008 ETA.

Sounds pretty darn swish. Hopefully will look equally good in motion!

Having seen the screens, I have to say it's nice to see a third party actually putting effort into a new IP on Wii. This kind of thing has been all too rare so far.

look ok and sound ok let hope the game is good
