Nintendo Wii News | NiGHTS Delayed?

NiGHTS Journey of Dreams, one of the most anticipated Wii games of the year, has been "unofficially" pushed back, according to NeoGAF forum member later. The primary source, nightsintodreams.com, had this to say:

As for our source of the delay, it's as high up as it gets. You see, the German magazines said Christmas 2007 was the release date as did Daniel our demo-guy. When we got Nintendo's publishing dates, it was listed as November. We contacted SEGA this morning and spoke with SEGA's Product and PR Manager and he told us that it's been officially pushed to Q1 2008. That's literally "this morning's news", and it's coming from the most credible source it can come from.

Optimists could hope that this means they're taking their time to implement more features into the game or generally enhance it, but pessimists could see this the start of a slippery road full of delays.

Will we be able to play NiGHTS within the year?

Think of all of the rather fantastic games that were delayed once...then twice...then again...and then three years later we got our game - and it was good - but late.

And I'm talking about pessimists. So...that's why Smilie

This really is fantastic news, I had become dis-interested in this game after hearing bad opinions about how it's framerate got very choppy at times. This extra time will give them a chance to make a more polished game all over. I think a game like this needs really needs to run smoothly at the very least. The latest screens look pretty good though and I am starting to get interested again.{LS]

Personally, I think this is a Sonic game with a female heroine. What's different to Sonic?

Tis good I suppose - any improvements will really do the game justice. There's been such a wait for it that it really should be next to a perfect sequel. Shame it's possibly not out for Xmas 2007 though, needs it!

I don't mind a delay in it's release if it ends up being great because of it. Personally i've been a bit disheartend by the recent games Sonic Team have released though. I have fingers crossed but i'm not holding my breath.

NiGHTS is genderless. NiGHTS isn't meant to have a voice. Therefore it's already ruined. Plus it's made by Sonic Team, so it's going to be Sonic Team Crap.

If they delay it then it might turn out alright.

But then again... Sonic 2006 was delayed. That game killed Sonic Team in more ways than one.
