Threats building up against Nintendo...

Nintendo has been ruling the roost over here in the UK for the past six months, but its competitors are lining up with heavy hitters as the second half of 2007 rolls on. In fact, not only has the Xbox 360 got the immensely anticipated Bioshock out this week, but also Blue Dragon, the new RPG from the creator of Final Fantasy! And with the PlayStation 3 discounts and bundles appearing in stores across the country, could we see a surprise Sony resurgence? Just how will the Kyoto Company fare in response to these threats, though?


A (Bio)shock shakes up the chart...

As we have seen time and time again since last year, no matter how many new games hit the chart, the Nintendo DS line-up proves ultimately resilient. This is witnessed once more and Brain Training holds strong at No.3 on the All Prices Top 40 and More Brain Training climbs up one to No.4, and Cooking Mama only slipping two to No.11! In fact, even the Wii is showing signs of replicating the DS chart strength, with Wii Play just down three to No.5, despite the strong competition. Other budget Nintendo games in this chart include Big Brain Academy for Wii, which returns at No.23 after a re-stock, Tomb Raider: Legend back in at No.29, thanks to promotional work for the DS edition, Big Brain Academy on DS (down from No.25 to No.34, though) and Zoo Tycoon DS, down four to No.39.

Back in the land of the Full Price only games Top 40, Bioshock on 360 and PC slams home at No.1, becoming the 2nd fastest selling game on 360, being beaten only by Gears of War (88% of sales on Xbox 360, the remaining 12% for PC, and accounting to 58% of all 360 game sales in total this week!). hmm u miss the part about fastest selling console in all of recorded British history!

the PS2 49 weeks to sell a million, and it took the 360 60 weeks, the Wii has accomplished the feat in just 38 weeks

well that what i hear just this week i think?

I did not know that but I should have guessed it, and this despite the problems they are having with distribution.{LS]
