Super Paper Mario heads the new releases line-up...

Since the release of Mario Party 8 and Trauma Centre for Wii, Nintendo fans have been settling themselves down for the release of Super Paper Mario, which comes many months after taking the US and Japan by storm. But how has it done now it has launched, has the delay effected its performance and how about Tingle's DS RPG and Square Enix's Heroes of Mana

I personally thought that Super Paper Mario would of grabbed the one of the two top spots. It has been advertised alot here in Ireland. Although i haven't a single ad for the two new DS titles.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

I just saw the Paper Mario advert and cringed...ugh. I think the format of Wii adverts needs to be changed for certain games. It really didn't seem to appeal too much for this game.

And shame S-E isn't advertising HoM on TV, nor are there ads for Tingle Smilie

Was GC still getting top 10 games at this point in it's life?

'Tis nice to see Wii games getting continuous sales and chart placings at least.

I'm actually surprised Mario got so high.

DS & Wii adverts suck in general, they need to change & be less like a lame Coca Cola advert selling life style.

You're selling a GAME! Not cool badly dubbed rich people with loads of friends & patronising voiced women. Smilie

OMG it's not even funny how right you are. Every time I see that damn metroid curruption commercial I die a little inside. I think for the Nintendo top sellers like the up comming Galaxy there should be a someone in a mario costume getting on a space ship with astronauts or something. With Brawl they need to bring back the old smash bros commercial and redo it. Nintendo just needs to get rid of the whole showing up with "wii would like to play" because it is now boring, shit advertising, and Not showing what the game is made of especially since now the Wii is in mainstream so whats the point of tutorial commercials with jackasses swinging and smiling at the screen.

I am surprised SMP is not doing better but I am not surprised Airbourne is doing so well as it really is the best MoH game in years. Stranglehold was always destined to do well. Ithas John Woo's style all over it, despite it's flaws i love it.

I have three out of the top four. Airbourne is a very fun game let down by a crappy save system, Stanglehold is great wild fun let down by a lack of depth, and it's a little to easy for most hardcore shooter fans. Super Paper Mario is as many say is let down by small things but I am enjoying as any hardcore Ninty fan would. It's very charming.

I hope they ramp up the advertising and it does better in the coming weeks, I can see Stanglehold dropping and MoH remaining at No 1 though for a while yet.

Super Paper Mario is the biggest laugh I've had in gaming since Phoenix Wright or Warioware, & those are pretty much the only games that I've genuinly lol'd at ever. Some of the jokes in Super Paper Mario are completely excellent, like the robotic dragon saying "CTRL AL DEL!" Smilie or that pixel saying "Threeee point one fooooour!" Smilie

I agree it's very funny, very witty, very charming. What would you say were the bad points? from what you have played so far, and there are some, so be honest. I think the music lacks the sort of charm that Nintendo are well known for. Nintendo should have done it.

I like the music of the game. It's alright. I prefer Thousand-Year Door's music.

The graphics err, it looks gorgeous in 2-D but looks quite bad in 3-D. That don't bother me though as it's a great game.

I haven't seen any adverts for the game but most Wii/DS adverts I have seen are good. (Uk ads and not the annoying US 'wii would like to play' ones)

The Wii ads really do indeed suck. However the short ads on Channel 4 comedies are mostly pretty good, especially the Wii Sports one.

Bad points of the game? I guess that it's a bit slow paced, but mostly for me the bad points are that when I got to Chapter 4 I became really upset because I knew I was already halfway in Smilie

The music is quite good, I quite like it. It's different to other Paper Mario music, the music from PM64 was much more catchy, but SPM has a great style too.

Right now I can't think of anything too bad about it. Well actually, the story isn't too interesting. It's getting more interesting though. Playing as Peach = win, it's just a shame that only Mario can go 3D.

I'm really not sure about the music...quite lacklustre compared to previous games. And the game is so slow-paced I've been struggling to find the enthusiasm to continue further.

Anyone picked up Tingle or Heroes of Mana?
