Whilst the Nintendo DS may be the most popular portable console around the world, it has been deemed as a danger to aeroplanes due to its Wi-Fi capabilities affecting in-flight equipment. Therefore, Japanese airlines have now banned the use of both the DS and PSP, as well as any other device capable of wireless transmission, such as wireless mice.
The Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has stated that such pieces of hardware emit electromagnetic waves that could potentially interfere with aircraft navigation and other systems.
