The title is promising, but definitely it needs more work.

great original concept, hope ot doesnt end up as a lame gta clne.

They seriously need to push on the graphics, if they did then this game would be incredible. If Wii supposed to be a gamecube 1.5, I know it can produce graphics better than RE4.

nooo, from the concept art it looked like the game would be sex...Smilie

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

What the hell is everyone else looking at?

The last 2 screens are rather orsum. While character models and cars aren't exactly fantastic, there's plenty else that makes up for it, like giant massive waves and falling buildings seen in the earlier ones.

Could just be me tired eyes though.

I like the style... I think most people aren't liking the style, not the graphics... I don't see anyone criticizing "No More Heroes"'s graphics... The characters are like walking cubes, but that's the style that game is going for. The style of Disaster makes everything look kind of grayish or blurry, but that's because, apparently, it is always raining. The character model of the girl in that second screen shot isn't fantastic, I'll give you that, but Ray looks decent. The car, the buildings and the rain on the other shots are looking pretty good.

Looks interesting, can't wait to hear bit more on it, they have been dragging this game out so long on such little information!

Have you been living in a cave or something. The Gamecube 1.5 died when Metroid Prime 3 was released. Only nerds and fanboys still use that comment. Just take a look at Brawl and
Galaxy.

The Graphics of this game will get better. It's not like this game is coming out this year. It's scheduled for a 2008 release date.

Nintendo, here's a tip:

Don't release amazing looking concept art/clips if you are just going to deliver bland looking graphics in the finished product.
But who knows, maybe the gameplay will be amazing so it won't matter.

The graphics do look like they need a bit more work. But the game as a whole looks like it's coming together rather well. If it turns out an exellent game with slightly rough graphics though, i'll still buy it.

I am not sold on the concept, I hate natural disaster movies... this is a natural disaster game.

It's a shame that there's so many N64 games that were never released.

Seriously now, it better not end up looking like "Heatseeker."

Its funny how theres still no details on gameplay whatsoever.

We have a scenaro concept, not a gameplay one.

I just had an idea. What if they handed over this game to Retro Studios? I know it's probably too late now, but I think a game like this would be perfect for them.

Anyway, I'm afraid that this game will be too linear. I don't think I want to play through levels, I want to have a feeling of freedom.

You obviously haven't seen me going on about how shit No More Heroes looks. NMH has no fucking style, it just looks awful, same with this. No polygons and shitty textures is not a fucking 'style', unless not putting any effort into things is your style.

Again, why the fuck do people say this? It DOESN'T HAPPEN. Maybe if you see screens of a game when it's very first announced, and then it's released about 2 years later, then maybe there'll be a slight improvement in graphics, but when a game has 6 months, or even a year left to go (Which I certain this game has less than) it just doesn't happen. Ever. Artists and modellers get to work on a game right at the start. They don't make the entire game and then say 'Hmm... We've got a few months left... Let's make the entire game again!'. Again, it DOESN'T HAPPEN.

This game will look just as shit as this when it's released. Hopefully it'll still play well, but until we actually see some proper footage who the fuck knows...

@Megadanxzero:
No, I haven't seen you "going on about NMH"... hahaha...
This is a Nintendo published title, so people are expecting greatness. It's only natural that we expect at least the same level of quality we're now used to.

What the hell has that got to do with his point? He was saying it looks crap.

YES IT DOES HAPPEN

This isn't remaking the entire game, this is replacing or touching up textures, adding on or improving certain effects, tweaking or modifying certain things etc., not an entire remake of the game.

MP3 is one example. About a year or so between the initial demos based on the latest game to final release. The opening cut scene of one of the demos showed Samus's ship flying down to the surface. In this there was nothing going on. In the final version of the game there are ships flying around and explosions going off. Then when she met the GF soilder, there were some slight modifications in design. There are quite a few other differences I could probably point out if I could be arsed to go back and rewatch.

SMG - a boss shown in one of the levels had rather large beams of light coming from the eyes. If I remember rightly, the light coming off was originally just a ring of light coming off it rather than properly lit up, and in more recent videos show it properly (and rather brightly) lit. There's probably more but I can't be arsed to check.

There's probably more examples but those are the only half decent things I can think of. There are usually quite a lot of changes you can make out if you look closely enough in quite a few games, and it can be rather surprising when properly looking back.

With this it just depends on where their priorities lie, if they're gonna start working on the less impressive parts of the visuals (there are still some nice screens, most of it relates to general destruction though) or work on other parts that may need improving.

I am going to have to agree with (B)ryan. There is many games that look shit but end up looking beautiful in the end. Metroid Prime 1 looked like total crap before just before its release. MP3 looked quite normal until released (where it became best looking game by large margin on the console [not saying much]). Even zelda that looked in the beginning looked marginally better once released... its to be expected.

But however that is very often not the case. I don't but it seems that Japanese developers/publishers tend to release early and unfinished pictures or don't know how/bother to doctor them up. You look at many western games, and they actually look better 1 year before they are released.

Actually, I don't want to sing with the graphic-whoreriness. second-to-last shot out of the car in the rain looks awe. Last one is taken from a cutscene. Saying 'prerendered' on it's front.

I think it's great for Ninty going this way, just look: They are building not only a possible new franchise but a whole new game type. Nintendo never did something like this. They deliver cool heroes and 'mature staged cameras' and themes and so on. I am not into GTA, but I watch this title with great intereset.

Again: 'low-def' titles always look kind of crap in stills. But look at the model itself in the first pic: lotsa polys forming the body, natural looking ellbow and muscle tone. His hair move quite natural in the trailer Jump_button showed us and the water looks good on the third shot.
If you look at RE4 today it looks crap and blocky in forst level(! I don't know the others, I still have to play it past the cows. I am sooo noob and have no time!), this game already got to RE4's level in graphics, methinks.
And showing huge levels isn't a strong side of low-power consoles like Wii. But look how they already manage it.
Last months in graphics are there to optimize shaders, add effects, tweak lights, add fog, add accessories. They may not change the models themselves, but they can make the game lifelier. And that's all we need here. Look how lowpoly Metroid is and no one notices it. That's the power of Wii. And watching FF12 on PS2(!), Silmeria and God of War 2 proves even Wii has fucking lot to come to light when you say graphics.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Was this announced as a DS game while i was away on Holiday?!?!?!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

^^^ Those "Wii games look like DS" jokes are getting a tad stale.
