Nintendo News | Metroid Prime Preview Channel Launches in Europe

Nintendo of Europe have announced the Metroid Prime 3 preview channel for Samus's upcoming Wii outing later this month.

First up is an opportunity to see thrilling trailers and game footage via the exclusive Metroid Prime 3 Preview. Bringing home just how special the final game in the Metroid Prime trilogy really is, the Metroid Prime 3 Preview is free to all Wii owners who have their console online, and can be downloaded by simply visiting the Wii Shop Channel. As well as giving you a glimpse of the game running on your TV, the Metroid Prime 3 Preview will explain more about the starting point for the events of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and leave you itching to assume the role of Samus once more!

As if that isn't enough, we're also giving you the chance to go back in time and play your way through another classic Metroid adventure via Virtual Console. Super Metroid blew the world away when it first appeared on the Super Nintendo thirteen years ago. Featuring the captivating blend of exploration and blasting that first propelled the Metroid series into the limelight, Super Metroid regularly rears its head in lists of the greatest games ever made. Once again pitching Samus into battle against the evil Space Pirates, Super Metroid is a classic in every sense, and is available on Virtual Console now.

Yes! Great! I was the one complaining like a puppy for not giving Europe this channel. And now here it is! I am grateful, really!

And I bought Super Metroid right after it came out on Friday. It's unbelievable, but this beauty delivers all the feeling, exploring and great music Metroid Prime gave me in 2D. It really is that great! And in absolutely no way outdated. Believe me, when I say this, as I discover sadly, that a lot of legacy games lost its appeal. Especially N64 games.

This one has not!

Five videos, a picture 'puzzle' and the promise of a new video on 17th October isn't bad at all...There will be a lot of Wii owners that don't know much about MP3, so this will be a decent viral marketing ploy, I reckon.

Nice Tri-hair, nice feature the only shame in my eyes is not being able to listen to the full intro music which is excellent.

That's right.
But since there are that much Virtual Console games sold, then I think that a lot of people are online.

I've seen most of these Videos, too, but seing them again on the 'big screen' and holding Wiimote in hand gives you the feeling of 'Why can't I play right now, I need this! *tries to swish Wiimote*'

Swish. I haven't watched many videos of Corruption since E3. I don't think I've seen any actually. Smilie

Looks very good. Why isn't there a Galaxy equivelent?

The frame reminds me of the Super Game Boy. Smilie

Quite a nice little distraction - can't wait for the game, I've been waiting on it since launch.

There's no doubt in my mind that a Mario Galaxy one is going to turn up soon.

A Mario Galaxy one, a Brawl one, & maybe a BWii one are surely going to be released too.

Still, after the "Everyone's Nintendo Channel" is released, there won't really be a point will there?

Anyway, I got the Channel, I have to say I really like the videos, & I hate the Hunters, I hope they die. Smilie

Meta Ridley looks a bit lame, & to be honest he's so overused as a Metroid boss.

The best Video for me was Aurora, for those who've played & completed it already, please no spoilers, but they have a stupid resemblance to Mother Brain, it's not even funny. If Mother Brain doesn't have some sort of role in Metroid Prime 3, I'll officially declare that 3D Metroids will never be as good as 2D Metroids evar ever evar.

Anyway, Super Metroid is excellent, I completed it, & it makes me remember how incredible 2D Metroids are in comparison to 3D Metroids. I am now a proud completer of every Metroid game in the main series :3

I plan on making a large thread/rant/killingspree/gained the lead about the Metroid series in general & it's future after I've got & played MP3 a bit (if I actually like it I might even finish it) Smilie
