Pitfall Harry
Pitfall swings back into action!

Game Data

Pitfall isn't so much old school as ancient school. First released in 1982 for the Atari 2600, the 2D side-scroller was a seminal platformer in which your little pixellated man had to swing across croc-infested swamps and the like.

Well, rather unnecessarily, it's getting a current-gen brush-up and is due to be released in October - and Activision have just released a batch of new screenshots from the console versions.

The updated Pitfall Harry features over 50 obstacle-packed levels including lush rain forests, creature-ridden caves and vast glacial mountains.

We're not expecting the most sophisticated gaming experience we've ever seen but, if this manages to retain the charm and the just-one-more-go factor of the original, this could well be worth keeping an eye out for.
