Nintendo DS News | Hunting and Animals this Christmas in S. Korea

By Adam Riley 15.12.2007 5

Just in time for the Christmas period, Nintendo has ramped up its advertising presence for the DS over in South Korea, with new games hitting the market, plus new 'general' TV campaigns. First up are two Metroid Prime Hunters adverts, followed by a batch of general adverts to push what is already on the market, as well as Animal Crossing adverts (which launched on 6th December, alongside Metroid) [ thanks to Game Pressure for the adverts ]:

In addition to this, it has been revealed that Sight Training and More English Training will launch in that territory in the near future, most likely in January if the current pattern of reveal-then-release is followed. On the Third Party front, Bandai Namco's Pac-Pix landed on 15th November, whilst Spongebob and WWE from THQ launched last Friday, 14th December.

Suddenly, Cubed3 members realised living in Europe doesn't seem all that bad.

I think it's great that Nintendo's been pumping out so many great quality games in the DS's first year on sale over in South Korea.

You have to remember that the DS Lite only launched in January! At the moment the company's pumping out between one and two First Party games per month.

I'm tempted to treat my nieces over there to a copy of Animal Crossing each...I reckon it's going to be huge, especially with the online element.

I think the metroid hunters adverts weren't that bad.

I agree - I think it caters very well to the audience of mid-20s men that play a lot of online PC games. Really gets the message across about fighting against each other around the country.

These ads are pretty good, clearly shows which audiences Nintendo are targeting for their games. I think the Metroid ad is quite effect, definitely shows that Metroid can be quite a competitive and intense "FPS" game. (Multi player wise anyway)
