Nintendo Wii Media | Smash Update: Distant Planet

The second update this week on the Smash Bros. Brawl website reveals the battle level for the Pikmin-inspired stage.

Pikmin's protagonist, Captain Olimar, was forced to make an emergency landing on this unexplored planet.

Let's just call it the Distant Planet for now, shall we?

The flooring in the middle of the stage is made of vines and is very bouncy.

As you play, you'll see numbered Pellets fall from the Pellet Posies around the stage. Grab one of these and throw it into a nearby Onion to get items.

Here's a Pellet and an Onion. Also, this planet experiences frequent torrential downpours. When things get wet, you'll want to stay away from the hill on the left, as it gets pretty treacherous.

Whoa, that's some fierce rain right there! Oh yeah

um... that stage looks WAY too small (G&W was good small). Also I agree with Fatman, I hope this isn't the reason it was delayed, cause if it was then "WE DONT NEED IT!"

WTF!? I don't understand this at all, how can 1 stage being released mean it's the reason the game was delayed?! I mean come on, the game is being delayed ONE WEEK in Japan, and believe me, it would take far more than a week to make a stage like this.

I can tell you people don't know of/like Pikmin, in which case your opinion doesn't really mean anything. Smilie especially since you're somehow convinced this "gay stage" is the reason you only get the game 4 months before us rather than 5. Smilie Oh boo hoo.

Sorry for being like this, but some people's attitudes on this are so spoiled/unbelievable. Smilie

Yes, definitely one of the most visually pleasing stages by far that we've seen... Especially considering the stages in Melee/Brawl were never something to look in awe at.

It's called a Bulborb, a Red Bulborb to be exact, [Oculus kageyamii russus] formerly known as Spotty Bulborb, but this was changed due to more recent discoveries. It's part of the Grub-Dog family.
