Nintendo Rumour | Factor 5 Gearing up for Kid Icarus WiiMake?

Rumour: With news that Factor 5 is working on a Wii exclusive, the team is supposedly working on a new installment in the much sought after Kid Icarus franchise, according to a credible source on Kombo. The game is said to use a completely ground-up engine as opposed to a GameCube build.

I have to agree, besides you would think it would be a inhouse title. Ive always thought it could be a new Zelda of sorts if it's given the full treatment by Nintendo.

Granted, it's not the most credible source (hence: Rumour) but it is Advance Media Network. Though I'm not the biggest fan in what they do, it is still certainly worth posting given their pretty big status in the industry.

Kombo is their re-branding.

You don't know everything.

Yeah, I'd much rather it was done by Nintendo, it could be so completely redone that it COULD be Nintendo's NEW IP. You know, the stuff of legends, Kid Icarus is already an established great idea for a series, if it had a brand new 7th gen game, it could be amazing. I don't want Factor 5 doing it.

If Nintendo have a problem making new IPs, then revisit the old stuff, they all have so much potential and could make it so Nintendo has something other than Mario, Zelda and Metroid.

Yeah, I want a new Starfox too.

Great news if true. They know how to make great games on nintendo systems and will push the hardware. I love the fact they will not use gamecube engine for this.

Factor 5 generally do good games. They seem to try to push a game of high quality before they release it.
They're graphical junkies as well i seem to remember which is a good thing.

I'd prefer them to work on Star Fox, IF they had to work on any Nintendo game.

I still think it is unlikely... although they did develop MusyX for the GameCube, so they were good pals with Ninty back then.

I still want to see Thornado sooner or later.

Factor 5 is like ideal for Starfox, but you know, wouldn't it be better if they worked on a new IP instead? Same goes for Retro.

they should get the TW princess crew to do this, to make it just as epic or Square Enix, since he's got a anime look to him in brawl. but i also want Square to give me a God damn sequel to Luminous Arc, just finished it and i want MORE!!! fantastic game but they ended it hiting that there will be more. oh please do it!!!

I really want Nintendo to work on Starfox, all they've had work on them for ages are 3rd parties, and StarFox hasn't been the same in a long time, only Nintendo can put the effort in and make it what it was.

I'd much rather have a new IP, Nintendo are being lazy and they have a lot of work to do, they can't put all their IPs onto someone else Smilie

mm retro doing starfox? mmm sounds nice, with all the detail they add to ships, planets etc, they can give a real great look to Starfox. make it a bit more mature as well. so many possibilities!

This is potentially very awesome news. So long as Nintendo works very closely with them on it (I'm so stoked Factor 5 is back on board the Nintendo train Smilie).

We've all been clamoring for another Kid Icarus game for what seems like eons. Nintendo's been hinting here and there about a classic franchise making a big return on Wii. Kid Icarus has been at the top of the speculation list. Here's hoping. lol Smilie

As long as Factor 5 does an epic Rogue Squadron game for Wii (with full-on NWFC & WC24 support), I'll be more than happy! Smilie

Factor 5... hm... aren't these the same folks who said the Wii wasn't worth their time? I'm not saying this is true, but if it is, it would be quite the "foot in the mouth" scenario.

I'd love for a KI remake and to be fair I'd not care who made it because Nintendo rarely gives out its IP to other companies unless it knows what it's doing (Starfox Assault wasn't that bad)

I can't think of any positive examples right now.
