That can't be it. It's just too plain.

Cubed3 Member

That is pretty plain, but I like it, with the kart shadows and Wii-wheels in hand.

The Wii wheel is horrendous and the boxart itself is ... shit. Too plain.

I think if Nintendo is aiming to sell this to a wider demographic it will go with a more plain box, to be honest.

Not bad layout, although I hope that that concept art doesn't end up on the final design, its been too overused everywhere else already. Smilie

Oh dear GOD MY EYES.

Cubed3 Member

Plain? But isn't that what the wii's image is all about these days anyway? Looks fine too me, I doubt i'll be using the supplied wheel seems like another zapper to me.

Since release date is ages away, since this artwork - however not bad - is overused and since Nintendo never released boxarts too soon (they will be forgotten till release) I think thi is fake. It's exceptionally well done and seems to be within Nintendo's philosophy and CI. Great fake!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Why do Nintendo have to make us go through this. Smilie

Does Mario Kart Wii even HAVE a logo? Or is it just "Mario Kart" with the Wii logo effortly slapped underneath it?

ZOMG Wii Steering Wheel. Smilie it had better still be regular RRP. Or maybe a budget game. (Doubt it)

*shudder*

Lets just hope it's not real.

Come on guys, you forget the DS box was just as plain

ModeratorStaff Member

The DS box was plain, but:

- It didn't just say "Mario Kart" with the Nintendo DS logo pasted effortlessly beneath it
- It's not almost 100% focused on a useless circular piece of plastic.

It's focused on Mario in a Kart. Hence the name Smilie

I think it looks awesome! The wii is very plain (the white themes) and I think if it was too active it would suck.

My pictures wont appear so heres a smiley
Cubed3 Member

The plainess is for the Wii, go look at your wii, its white isn't it, just white?, yes it is. Thats why the box is plain, its a clean cut design like the wiis and isn't over complicated, like the wii. See the similarities

Besides it looks legit

that my friends is called minimalism(did i spell that right)

This is phil. If your conciousness must absolutely intrude upon mine, leave a message.
Cubed3 Member

Yeah you did, and minimal is what I'm all about these days. Less is more I'd say

Cubed3 Member

Why would it be a budget game Superlink?

Maybe the actual DVD box inside of it will have a different cover anyway.

Cubed3 Member

Well, it definately fits perfectly with other Wii peripheral box designs. It's simplistic, yet quite stylish. I like it. Only time will tell if it's legit.

As for the Wii Wheel, I love it. It looks slick and ergonomic. I can't wait to wrap my grubby hands around one. Smilie

Yeah, but it was a style, and it really looked nice the way they did it. This just looks crap.

In the end it is just the stupid box, but it still looks wretched. I hope they don't use the wheel as the header...

Or maybe a budget game.

I sincerely hope it isn't a budget game...I'll be disappointed actually. Mario Kart's one of the big blockbuster titles of the year. Paying less is great, but it often correlates to how much they spent to make the game. I want them spendings lots. Smilie

The DS box looked just as plain infact just googling it now it looks even more plain.

But yeah I would be very dissapointed if it was a budget game... i'm looking forward to it more than brawl.

I Like it Smilie saving on money for the boxart aswell, they're financial geniuses! or just cheap but i still like it

Cubed3 Member

I like the more minimal look.

Cubed3 Member

:O E for Everyone, so much for a European First release eh

Cubed3 Member

Now that I have had a proper look at that box, it does look just a bit under polished, they moght keep the basic desing but they better add some more to the box to make it alittle more appealing
