Nintendo Power Confirms Tales of Symphonia Wii in US

Tales of Symphonia coming to the West on WiiWhilst everybody was expecting Bandai Namco to team up with Nintendo to bring over its fantastic Nintendo DS RPG effort 'Tales of Innocence', the next main entry into the long-running RPG series (check out the hands-on preview here), it appears that Nintendo Power's major RPG announcement was in fact none other than Namco Tales Studio's Wii role-playing title, the successor to Tales of Symphonia on the GameCube, 'Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk'.

Set after the events of the GameCube hit, Knight of Ratatosk promises to feature a host of favourites from that game, such as Lloyd and Colette, as well as a plentiful supply of new, intriguing characters, like protagonist Emil and the heroine, Marta. More details can be found in Cubed3's in-depth preview of the game. It also appears that the subtitle has been amended for the Western market, meaning the game will now be called 'Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World', which directly relates to the fact that the this story is indeed based around the start of a new age.

Hideo Baba-san hinted in a C3 interview on Innocence at the fact this Tales of Symphonia would be getting a translation due to Bandai Namco knowing just how popular the GameCube title was in Europe, and now it appears to have been confirmed. So what are your thoughts on this in general, as well as the game's new name? Plus do you still want to see the excellent Tales of Innocence on DS get translated?

Be sure to share your thoughts below and your feedback will be passed over to Bandai Namco in Japan. Expect an interview related to this Wii game in the next couple of months as well, right here on Cubed3...

Well, after reading your interview a while back, it seemed very likely the game would make it over to lands outside of Japan, but this confirmation is great to hear.

I'm a massive Symphonia fan. I love the GameCube game to bits, and with it being just about one of the best in the small RPG library on the Cube, it's no surprise it was so popular over here. The sooner it comes to Europe, the better.

As for Innocence, I'd very much like for it come out here too. I could do with an RPG like Tales on the DS. I'm sure it will eventually make it over.

My thoughts exactly...the first line anyway.

Although I'm not complaining too much, glad to hear this'll make it out of Japan.Smilie

And do I want to see Innocence get translated? Does a bear crap in the woods? Smilie

On a related note and out of curiosity, does anyone know what N.Power gave Brawl in that review?

Awesome. Glad we'll see this game come to the West soon. And yes bring on Tales Of Innocence. We've been starving for some good ol' "Tales" games for some time now.

Play it on Wii then... Grab a Cube-stick (get it new from Nintendo's consumer service), which you can use for Brawl, too, a memory card and you're done...

Hey, I mso liked the old name 'Knight of Ratatosk'... the American one is just sooo boring! Dawn of War? Dawn of This or that? What? A, disappointing...
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

I have yet to purchase a Wii. Also I have no TV to play it on anyway! Which is actually why I didn't bring my Cube with me...

aww i want this game but i don't have a wii... but i do have a DS and i've been waiting for Tales of innocence for AGES! hurry up and release it here!!

Anywho on a slightly different. tone i think they might release TOI a little after symphonia 2 as way to get the DS game a bit more publicity than it would get on it's own.
