SEGA Brings 'English of the Dead' to Nintendo DS

SEGA is currently reaping the rewards of its Wii support, with successes for games such as Sonic and the Secret Rings, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, Ghost Squad and even NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. Recently it revealed that it would be bundling both The House of the Dead 2 & 3 together on Nintendo's home console as well.

However, to add to this resurrection of the immensely popular arcade shooting title, a special spin-off is heading to the Nintendo DS. Whilst in the past a version called 'Typing of the Dead' has appeared on PC, now SEGA will be taking full advantage of the Nintendo DS's wide appeal by releasing 'English of the Dead' this Spring in Japan.

According to early details from Famitsu magazine, this will be an action game where you defeat hordes of zombies with the power of English. The zombies will spurt out Japanese words on the screen and players must quickly write down the English translation on the touch-screen in order to survive. English of the Dead will feature six hectic and gruesome stages, and will feature 'Training' and 'Auto Listening' modes.

Expect more details to emerge soon...

*lol* As ridiculous as it sounds, it could be one of the most croe gaming learning course for a language to date. Kudos for SEGA for thinking thru this surely drug-origined idea!

A star for the bold word above (such a bad game, a disappointment, it seems. ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!).
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Will certainly feel right at home with all the other weird training games DS has... it's like a new type of edutainment PC... good lord.

The thing is, kids won't buy it because of the zombies, I don't know if the demographic of girl gamers would buy it either. Smilie

You can do it for free at a college if you're under 19 when the course starts. I'm doing it once a week in the evenings for fun. Smilie

Of course learning isn't fun. That would be silly. But being able to speak Japanese will be awesome. Smilie
Thus, more imported Japanese games that I'll actually be able to make sense of. Hence more fun.

Although, the course itself is actually pretty fun. Smilie
