Nintendo Releases New Wii Update

By Adam Riley 26.02.2008 16

Nintendo has today issued a new update for Wii consoles. Below is the official statement:

Wii Menu 3.2: "This update does not affect any prominently-used features or menus; however it does provide some behind the scenes updates that will improve system performance."

Will you bother to update, and if so have any of you found a big change in performance?

Yeah I'll update...

It's probably firmware, to stop us from importing or chipping. Smilie

Yeah I'll be updating also, if only to keep my Wii running healthily.

Yer that's what NoE's surprise was for EU Brawlers: Here is a new update, just so there is no conceivable way for you to play Brawl on your PAL Wii before we decide to release it."

Actualy, it dosnt patch a few known exploits.
Its probably for exactly what they say it is.

Also, they might have spotted changed needed to do other features later planned.

Last update; Mice,Plumbers,Animatronics and Airbenders. We also have the socials; Facebook & G+

My Wii seems to load a little quicker. Shame there wasn't more to this update. Smilie

How does it improve performances? My disc drive is sounding kind of loud!

needs to be cleaned then.

A fail so epic, it may just be a win.

My system seems to bit a bit more efficient with load times etc.

The Channels seem to load little quicker and the whole home screen interface seems a little more fluid.

Now that you guys are mentioning these enhancements, I'm noticing them too.

How do I clean the drive?

Blow on it!!Smilie

(don't really, don't know what it'll do:lolSmilie

My Wii started printing money! Maybe you will notice it too, now that you've read this!!

I thought the update just told you that the Wii Disc channel says update if the update on a new game is needed. Then again i updated my Wii then Turned it off. maybe the cpu runs slightly faster (like they do with the psp firmware updates).

I know that Nintendo aim to increase the speed of the channels opening with every update.

Yeh i had that as well but some of the games i tried had no update in the disk channel so i just brushed it off

The noise level of the disc drive depends on the disc inserted in it. Remove it. So you don't have to buy Nintendo's Suck-o-matic drive cleaning unit in shiny white...

more performance in menus is a good thing. I found it kind of slow. I will update - since I seldom think of updating since Freeloader and co stopped working anyway...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

i've noticed a huge diference...
It took forever for anything to load on my wii (GAMES) after the update my wii is running like normal...Smilie
