House of the Dead 4 on Nintendo Wii, Plus Typing?

According to a report from Jeux-France, House of the Dead 4 could be coming to Wii, along with a version of Typing of the Dead. Everything apparently rides on just how well House of the Dead 2&3 Return fares on Wii this year. So far SEGA has seen success with the arcade port of Ghost Squad and hopes are high for the budget-priced House of the Dead 2&3 Return, which also includes new exclusive modes.

With English of the Dead coming to Nintendo DS, clearly SEGA is using Nintendo formats as a platform for resurrecting the franchise. But could the high powered House of the Dead 4 really be squeezed onto the humble Wii? And just how would the concept of Typing of the Dead work since Wii has no official keyboard, with users having to use their own USB-powered ones if needs be. Perhaps SEGA is considering bundling a cheap keyboard with it?

For now, though, this definitely has to filed under 'rumour and speculation'...

Well that would be good, HoD4 is a great looking game, but it's specs on in original Lindbergh arcade form are pretty fearsome. I suppose they would have to considerably cut back visually. The 360 version will certainly not be.

Would be a good move. However, I don't think House of the Dead Return will do as well as SEGA expect - from what we've seen they've put little to no effort in the conversion, it looks shoddy.

If it flops, then they'll blame the Wii and not their own efforts, naturally.

Yes please. HotD4 is great. I reckon they could do a pretty good port of it with Wii, too.

Is this the game where you sit in a seat and it actually turns you around between two screens? I seem to remember one of the HotD titles doing that.

Hmmmm HoD collection is quite high on buy list so HoD4 sounds cool. And what is Type of the Dead? Sounds wierd...

That is so true. Sega seems to be using Capcom's marketing strategy by saying they are using House of Dead 2 and 3 as a test case.

The problem that I have is why are there no test cases for the PS3 or Xbox 360? Personally, I'm not buying a port of a game where the developers showed no effort to update the graphics to level of the Gamecube and no new content. The Game looks like its 10 years old and will probably play that way too. DO NOT WANT.

Sega can keep the House of Dead 4 if it requires Wii gamers to purchase trash. The cost is just too high.

correct me if i'm wrong but i think its where you learn how to type (HotD style)

Nah, not sure what that is. It's like the others only you have a machine gun, so to reload you give it a quick thrust down like you're emptying the clip.

Haven't they added new modes, and a new attack? I would say this was putting effort in, instead of just straight porting it. I'm probably going to pick this up because I really enjoy light gun games. $30 to �25 is a bit cheeky though, and I wish they'd come out at �20 like endless ocean and geometry wars.

Isn't HotD4 the one with the big ass shotguns? I felt like Terminator playing that game because it wasn't working properly and I had to use one hand, throwing the gun forward to reload (it wouldn't reload if I used my hand on it:sarcy Smilie
