Konami, WiiWare, Retro Gaming, Nintendo, Hideo Kojima Recent News
According to a new interview from Japan, it seems Konami has big plans for WiiWare, namely in relation to the resurrection of classic franchises.
Talking to Japanese news service Nikkei, Konami president Fumiaki Tanaka announced that Hideo Kojima is already commencing preliminary work on a new game outside of the Metal Gear world. Whilst only at the concept stage right now, nothing can be revealed. However, considering Kojima's team has previously created the solar-power Boktai games on the GBA, plus a stock trading series with a twist for DS, whatever comes next is certainly likely to be something special.
Elsewhere, the other juicy piece of news was that Tanaka-san stated that Konami will be dipping into its past repertoire of games and bringing remakes of more classics titles and resurrecting older franchises in the future. And whilst specifics were not given, Tanaka-san did mention how download services such as Nintendo's WiiWare (which launches in Japan on 25th March) could very well play a major role in this new direction.
But what classic Konami games would you like to see revived? Something like the Sparkster games, perhaps? Share your ideas below...

Link / SuperLink9But Kojima loves Nintendo. I bet he had to beg the rest of those Sony fanboys at Konami to let him do this.
Good news anyhow

LinkyshinksAxelay, Geoman Warrior, Contra, Parodius (already on japanese VC), Gradius, Twin Bee are all games I would love to see return in some form.
A version of Castelvania X would be nice for Wii Ware also.
Kojima said he wanted to make a game for Wii way back last year during the Snake Vs Zombie Q&A in Japan, hosted by Suda51.

noneI would love to see a MGS type game on the Wii, since MGS 4 is the last one, they should move the series on another character like Raiden.
If Konami pull something up that wud be fantastic.

noneThe idea itself is not bad: moving MGS to Wii, reshape it and get a new character doing the espionage job. But seriously: Kojima-san is a creative mind, he loathes doing MGS all over again. I would give him rest from the series.
Lunar Knights is great, guys! Please get it and play it. Great characters, funny game, good gameplay. it unreels itself after the first dungeon, you grow into RPG-kind of character development.
I would love to see something like this on Wiiware. But Kojima-san taking care of a classic franchise could produce great games like the last Metroid series. I am greatly looking forward to this!
Like Wiiware even now. Great stuff coming! *jumps*

I was once very keen on that game, I could have bought it this week for the very cheap sum of £14. It is a shame that it's not like Boktai and has a actual sensor, I think I would have bought it for certain if it had. I do like the graphics and the system of night and day. I also like that cute looking Sun if I recall correctly that follows you around, or is it a cat..

noneIt is a cat in Lunar Knights. A shadow-cat whose powers you can use. A bit like Artemis from Sailor Moon Manga (My, that is an oooold one!).
I didn't play any Boktai-game. Lunar Knights is technically up to date and a DS game. It is sold for "= EUR overall in Germany. A bit of a shame, going down like that. I fear it didn't sell quite that much.

I don't think it sold much anywhere to be honest, that is no bad thing, many fine RPG go unnoticed, certainly here in Europe. It is a shame it was not advertised more as a Kojima game.
