Update - The full Media Create Top 50 software for the week has now been released, along with the hardware data. Check out the details below:
Media Create Top 50:
Stick around for more Japanese chart updates...
Original Story - The first day sales have been collated from Japanese blogger sinobi, showing some shocking results. Pok?n Ranger may have been the big release of the holiday period in Japan, garnering strong first day sales as expected, but Hudson's Deca Sports on Wii starts surprisingly strong as well, whilst Ninja Gaiden disappoints terribly. Even though the franchise is not that popular in Japan it was thought the DS would expand the audience. Unless it opens up and sells more by the time the full chart is released on Wednesday, it could prove to be a major flop and will rely on its Western release (yes, it has been confirmed for Europe) to boost sales.

Check out all the sales below:
- Pok?n Ranger: Batonnage (NDS) - 127,000, which is a stronger start than the first Ranger game
- Armored Core: For Answer (PS3) - 44,000
- Tales of Rebirth (PSP) - 38,000
- Deca Sporta: Wii de Sports 10 Shumoku! (Wii) - 30,000, proving Third Parties can have big hits on Wii after all!
- Sakura Taisen: Kimi Arugatame (NDS) - 27,000
- SimCity DS 2: Kodai kara Mirai e Tsuduku Machi (NDS) - 26,000 is a great start after the poor sales of Theme Park and Populous DS
- Crayon Shin-Chan: Arashi o Yobu Cinema Land: Kachinko Gachinko Daikatsugeki! (NDS) - 19,000
- Mugen Kairou (echochrome) (PSP) - 16,000
- Armored Core: For Answer (360) - 16,000
- Time Hollow: Ubawareta Kako o Motomete (NDS) - 14,000 for Konami's answer to Capcom's Phoenix Wright seems rather low, but this might be a slow burner
- Chou Nekketsu Koukou Kunio-Kun Dodge Ball Bu (NDS) - 10,000
- Kekkaishi: Kokubourou Shuurai (NDS) - 8,000 (roughly 20% sell-through of initial stock)
- Army of Two (360) - 8,000
- Army of Two (PS3) - 6,000
- Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword (NDS) - 4,000 and far lower than many expected considering the status of this game
- Bangai-O Spirits (NDS) - 3,000 and whilst seemingly low, the initial shipment was less than 10,000 units!

what do you expect when its up against a mech game, and a pokemon game, and a Tales game.
Still, really should've sold more. Nintendo needs to work on its ant pirating thing, thats what is really taking away from sales.

Is Ninja Gaiden popular in Japan? I know it'll sell well in America.

I am kind of surprised that Ys I and II did not do better. Wasn't that a popular TG-16 series?
