Capcom Launches Okami Artwork Site

By Jorge Ba-oh 03.04.2008 5

Capcom US have launched a mammoth website for Okami fans , celebrating the artwork and inspiration behind the upcoming Wii release.

The official blog reveals the team wanted to "find a special way to thank all the vocal Okami fans that encouraged us to take a second shot at success with this title. We looked at special tiny art books for preorder, but the format didn't do the art justice and we wanted to reward the fans of the PS2 version as well."

The site promises to contain tonnes of illustrations, icons and wallpapers surrounding the goddess turned wolf.

    Nice website, I like it!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

I am definitely ordering that book, I already have the Udon SF one. I love all the art in Okami.

Noice! Love art books, have seen a few but really would like some more Nintendo-themed stuff. A Zelda book would be just awesomez!

Nice idea, I love looking at concept art.

I generaly prefer it as in-game unlockables, however.
Adds a little reward structure then. (Metroid did this well, as did Sonic&TSR, PoPs, ect).
Unlockable with a send-to-photochannel option would have been best :p

But still, I nit-pick, nice to have it.

(and, seriously, Nintendo really should publish their concepts...I too would love to see what sketchs are behind stuff like Twlight Princess. The next Zelda game should have a sketchbook which keeps a record of game concept art [the in game excuse could be link \"drawing\" in the book at certain locations]).

I agree they should make them available to fans, by some means, maybe via Stars from Club Nintendo. It\'s a shame they have never released such art books, not to my knowledge anyway. Perhaps in japan they have with some titles. Personally, I would love one of the Wind Waker art.
