Original story, 05/04:
The arcade classic Gauntlet makes a welcome return on the DS for more co-operative play and online features!
IGN recently revealed that Eidos have acquired the Gaunlet license and will be bringing the franchise to DS in June. Titled "Gauntlet" the game is being desgined from scratch by Backbone Entertainment and sees the same multiplayer action from the original outings - four different classes of characters, 40 different maps and 32 various enemy types.
The team want to really establish co-operative play and so the DS outing features local wireless connectivity and full online team-ups with voice chat (through the DS's microphone or optional headset). An array of death-match and treasure hunting modes also offer something different when taking a break from the regular action.
Gauntlet hits stores on June 30, 2008 exclusively for Nintendo DS.
