Wireless Nunchuck Adapter Heads to Wii

By Jorge Ba-oh 07.04.2008 16

A quirky-looking wireless adapter allows the Wii's nunchuck to be connected separately to the Wii-remote.

A small plug is slotted into the Wii-remote, which then connects to a fairly clunky nunhuck adapter (pictured below). The original nunchuck slides neatly into a shell, wires an all, and once synced players can freely move both hands about like a loon!

The Icon Wireless adapter runs off 2 AAA batteries.

or... you can save yourself the trouble by.
A: By an actual wireless nunchuck.
B: Play with the wire, it doesn't get in the way or anything =D

It looks pretty cool, but I'm fine with the normal nunchuck. The wire doesn't really get in the way.

I think it looks nice, great ergonomics, it sure is better looking than the heavily branded Nyko product.

I think the handle on it is cool, but cbf changing batteries so no.

Batteries in Wiimote AND Nunchuck is a nono.

Oh, and sorry C3, using the same April Fool's trick twice doesn't work. Smilie

Isn't it funny that Nintendo would announce this just a year after that C3 April Fool's joke? gg C3 Smilie

Looks cool however the use of AA batteries is lame. I'm not too fussed really, the wires isn't that bad.

I think id be lost if the nunchuck became wireless im so used 2 it.

If I am understanding you correctly, you are assuming this wireless nunchuk is a joke?

If so, then let me assure you, it is real. I have seen it myself at Future Shop and at EB Games. It is one of two models. The other adds a foot long attachment wand-like behind the nunchuk itself. Much too long.

I am seriously thinking of picking this one up for storage reasons alone. No more annoying wires all over! Woo Hoo.

ps. I commented on this wireless nunchuk attachment two weeks ago in another post!

Look unto me in every thought. Doubt not. Fear not.

Ive only thought ive needed a wireless nunchuck once and thats for Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, but even still i can make do with the wires

imo it looks ugly, chunky and cheap like a GAME gamecube controller. Total waste of money it's not like your hands are 2 metres apart or that the wire for the numchuck is so long that it'll get tangled up.

Since when did anyone think to themselves (infomercial voice) "Oh dear these wires sure are a hassle. Why is there no alternative?".

Bought it yesterday. Same solid plastic as the wiimote and nunchuk. At only $14.99CAD how can it be a waste of money? Awesomness factor is high.

lol. Often. My kids leave the nunchuk all over the place. The youngest likes using the chord to tie things up. With the chord tucked away, they won't be able to grab and yank it, the wiimote, two games, and who knows what else, off the shelf!

Nah, I know it's real, it just reminded me of C3's April Fools joke almost a year ago from now.

Does anyone know if this Wireless Nunchuck is official? Or is it a third party product? (I actually need to know Smilie)

Looks ok I guess, but the Nyko one has pretty much the same features (even the AAA battery use) without the horrible Halo gun look. In the end it all depends on price so I guess this one wins
