    Elebits Sequel Due for Wii

According to a snippet in this month's Official Nintendo Magazine, a sequel to Elebits (Eledees) is in the works.

The Japanese launch title saw players harnessing the power of small electric creatures known as Elebits. They power everything and anything from your television, computer to automobiles and the kitchen fridge. As a little chap known as Kai, players investigate his home to search for the little critters to restore lost power using his power gun.

The nib in the magazine reveals that Konami are indeed working on Elebits 2 and its due for release on Wii later this year. No additional details were mentioned, but expect an official announcement shortly - unless there's been a typo.

Thanks to C3's Marzy for the tip.

Yay. Moar Konami and Capcom support please.
Conducted with market research firm NPD, the study surveyed 2,611 gamers and determined that lines between casual and hardcore are blurry at best, and gamer demographics are broader than conventional thinking has held. As Big Fish chief strategy officer (CSO) Paul Thelen stated during a Casual Connect keynote, the traditional casual approach of "'one size fits all' doesn't work."

Definitely! Good to see added support/Wii projects this year. Elebits seemed pretty good when I first tried it out, can't seem to find it about recently though.

Konami will have to do something good with this game if they want it to sell like the first. The first game relied heavily on the fact it was a around when the Wii was still fresh with it's controls, it wont be the same case here.

They need to sort out the shoddy physics from the first game for starters, they were laughable at times.

The physics were bad but still a fun game, multiplayer is just hysterical.

    Online!

    Cool.
Maybe it could have better physics, graphics and an online mode where you cause as much destruction as possible in a time limit, and you can throw things at opponents.

I read this in ONM before and thought it might just be a typo as we've already reported Konami's bringing an Elebits sequel to DS, not Wii. Unless there's a version coming to both systems...OR the original story was incorrect about the DS edition.

I actually didn't think this game sold well enough to have a sequel.
