Game Controller Used to Kill Toddler

A 2-year old girl passed away on injuries inflicted by a game controller.

According to the Associated Press, the mother's boyfriend beat the young child with the remote with the mother herself not doing anything to prevent it.

The girl's mother, Neida E. Baez, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, with the boyfriend set a bail of $200,000.

Sources in the US are claiming it was indeed a Wii remote used, yet the type of controller has yet to be disclosed.

I don't think it will affect Nintendo, the guy used the Wii remote as a weapon, I mean if it was just an ordinary TV remote then I don't think it would be big deal, but just because its a Wii Remote, they going start targeting like the remote was made to hurt people which is not true.

Absolutely disgusting to hear this. It sick what some people can do in life and this is another example of it.

I was sent the link via my Wii from a US Wii Friend, she said it was with a Wii Remote. I have asked her for more details.

Notice how all news agencies are not reporting the controller in question, methinks NOA laywers have been briefed and have stepped in. This is also a pending child abuse case also so information is limited purposefully.

poor kid, next there gonna stop use of the wii remote/nunchuck use for it getting tangled round their throat and choking.

Read this on Game Politics the other day. I don't think the mother was charged for not doing anything, I believe it was for leaving the child with her boyfriend when she knew he had a history of abusing the child previously.

Obviously the bloke is a nutcase.

That is exactly what Nintendo do not want, Nintendo have already named it after a weapon.
