Mario Super Sluggers Smashes its way onto Wii

By Jorge Ba-oh 10.04.2008 5

Nintendo have confirmed a western release for Super Mario Stadium Baseball, dubbed Mario Super Sluggers.

Mario Super Sluggers sees the Mushroom Kingdom stallion make his way onto the pitch to play ball once more. Joined by his friends and foes, players can bask in the excitement of playing with Mario's balls in their living room.

Mario is truly a one-of-a-kind character; clearly fans can't get enough of him and his friends. We're giving Wii users brilliant new ways to enjoy him while expanding our series of active-play games.

Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing.

Now let's see what Mintendo can do with Baseball with the Wiimote. Just hope it isn't like a flashier version of Baseball in Wii Sports.

Looks like it'll just be a flashier version of Wii sports, the only real difference in chossing which base to throw at. oh well. it's baseball

I dont really like baseball, but I love all Mario sports games. There should be a Mario Golf Wii coming out, I loved the one for N64.

I like the new name much better. Smilie

Cool. It looked like it was going to be a good game on the GC, hopefully it will be far better on Wii after the tweaking they have done to the controls.
