Update: Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe has been confirmed for next-generation consoles via the official website, however doesn't appear to be heading to Wii/DS.
Original story:
A promo image for the upcoming entry in the Mortal Kombat series suggests a DC Comics cross-over.
Rumour: A supposed concept artwork reveals a bizarre possibility for the next Mortal Kombat: A Marvel vs Capcom-styled crossover between the gruesome antics of Mortal Kombat and the comic book adventures of DC (Batman, Superman, the Flash etc).
The image, and game is currently still under wraps but is likely to be revealed later today.

Bigger News: They didn't kill off everyone.
Sub-Zero is always nice to see. I just hope that my 2nd favorite series gets a great installment. Armageddon was kind of a letdown for me. I, personally, would want a 2D MK again, but made like Smash Bros. with the 3D characters and such; Trilogy was just too great to let the 2D MK's die.

Mortal Kombat has always bored me (with my brother buying it on wii and he loves it the only thing I liked was the racing kart mini game which I thought was fun) I just don\'t see the appeal of it (bar the obvious movie fan base for the terrible movies)when there are plenty of better fighters out there. This would have been WAY better for me if it was Marvel VS Mortal Kombat, an almost (but probally not) bust buy.

nice idea but i think i would of liked it if it was MK vs marvel theres not that many good characters from dc, i wonder if they have/ will ever make dc vs marvel

I doubt it's fans - I think it's more a case of DC not wanting it, if the no fatalities is true. There is blood shown in the trailer though, so maybe it won't be too cut down on the gore...
