Epic: The Wii is Backwards, a Virus

I'm a Nintendo fan, but I tend to enjoy other consoles as well. I'm very accurate when it comes to choose games; I like to say I don't have a single "crap" game. Rather than playing Redsteel on my Wii, I enjoy the most playing Rainbow Six Vegas on 360, or I like playing NFS on my Wii but not on the PS3...it all depends on who is playing.

On the other hand, I can blow up a game of any console (almost all of 'em) in two days max if I get into it .

I won't harm any console but "The Wii is Backwards", that's a low kick. Epic can take their ideas a get them through their butt if you ask me. Wii players won't care as Wiibertine said.

PS: I don't think there are any rules about writing in another languages, are there SL? As long as you don't say something offensive the mods would understand, verdad?

hahaha i was only trying to figure out what language Smiez spoke. But what we were saying though is that i got told off for not putting Capital letters and apostrophe\'s when i\'m suppose to. You know rush of writting does that to you. I see you can write something in spanish si? Hahaha.
Yeah i agree with you too, like I am a long time nintendo fan, like far out, i played soooo many games in my life, i lost count seriously. But while i love Nintendo, i used to play Mega Drive and Snes at the same time, even them being rival consoles. Same with PSOne, PS2, 360, PS3 I play them as well.

One thing i stick to is Nintendo\'s games, those i don\'t change for anything.

Unreal Tournament has always been a glorified tech demo. I don't think many would argue against that and I don't think Epic themselves would say the series has ever been a step forward gameplay wise, they're specifically referring to the technology.

yeah but even so, most of their games are like that. GoW for me is a quick pass time, if they're so keen in technology maybe they should simply stick to the engine making front and leave software to whoever is capable of doing so.
Now i understand your point, it's the technology they're on about. If they make games, they should step forward on that otherwise stepping forward on technology but doing SFA on their software is not a step forward to me.

We aren\'t going to moderate people writing a bit of spanish/portuguese, but I\'m fairly sure that \"imbecil\" means the same thing in english. Insulting people is out of order, doing it in a language they don\'t understand is just a wee bit cowardly.

This thread is heading towards being locked, if you (including knighty) can\'t debate this issue without fighting, it will be, simple as.

Andrezao, if English isn\'t your first language, it doesn\'t need to be perfect, but breaking up what you write into paragraphs will make it a lot clearer.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but his english spelling is generally good enough. His punctuation just needs work, in which case he should take the same care whichever language he writes in.


That\'s true, but reacting in such a way isn\'t necessary. Also, it wasn\'t really an attack, it was just a complaint of your English. Just in a rather... aggressive way.

To make it clear though, i said imbecil to the way he reacted to me, not meaning that he is one get me? Like saying what someone\'s doing is stupid, doesn\'t mean i\'m calling someone stupid but the action is.

I didn\'t know you guys here wanted us to write so properly, specialy cause every site i go, i write in a rush just like i was doing here, i didn\'t think it was necessary cause i could still get the message across. You can tell that my spelling is good, so i do write well, i just didn\'t worry about punctuation and all because i thought it wasn\'t necessary.

Well that's how we distinguish C3 from a chat room. It's a forum for mature discussion, and what better way to discuss in a way everyone can understand than to write in the Queen's English?

Basically, if you don't put any effort into writing it makes you look like you don't really care about what you're writing about.

Saying someone is acting like an imbecil and attempting to do so in a language they don't understand still isn't acceptable.

On topic, I'd also like to say Wii doesn't support the graphics engine of PS3 or 360 right? Still there are some Wii games with propper graphics like the mentioned RE4 and NFSProStreet [wich if you compare it to the PS3 or 360 versions, the only difference is how the cars destroy themselves and the people on the side of the racetrack].

As said I don't mind; if they were to do excellent graphic games with less motioned control schemes, is their problem .

PS: My natal tongue is spanish, and I speak french a little...but I don't post in those 'cause my english is not bad either [and to say the truth is much easier ].

I don't think that NFS pro street looks the same on wii as it does on the 360/PS3 at all- for a start the 360 and PS3 run it at much higher resolution, but there is definitely more to the difference than just that and how the cars are destroyed. Anyway, its not as though NFS pro street is the best showcase of the PS3 or 360's graphical capabilities.

But hey, compare mario galaxy to viva pinata. There\'s not much of a difference besides some jaggies, but hardly noticeable if you don\'t have your face stuck on the screen.

Oh, btw, did you guys see the wiiware title being developed by High Voltage? Damn it looks good, when i saw it was a wiiware title, that would sell for 700 wii points I seriously couldn\'t believe it! It looks like a full priced game!!

What does that comparison even say? You're taking the best looking wii game, and one of the least graphically advanced 360 games. And that game is *still* probably better looking than any wii game.

I don't really get where you're going on this- there is no point in trying to claim that the wii is a competitor in the field of graphics, its way behind, thats fine, its not what the console is about.

And I don't think that you can claim that epic aren't "capable" at making games- a heck of a lot of their games are very highly rated, even if they aren't your particular cup of tea.

Compare their ratings with Nintendo ratings then we'll talk . Aside from that Viva Pinata is supposed to be cartoony, so it does look great, and in 720p, it shouldn't allow the wii to even get close.

The fact is it does get really close, what i'm saying is, dev's should get their arses out of their seats and get some work going like nintendo did and produce something that good. < That's what i meant. I don't claim Wii is a competitor of 360/Ps3 standard, what i'm saying is that a good job well done can get very very close to what's supposed to be better. Get me?
