Left Field Productions, the developer of both Excitebike 64 and Nitrobike, has today exclusively revealed to Cubed3 that it is working on a brand new WiiWare project called 'Battle Poker'. Following on from the interview conducted with James Higgins, CEO of Left Field Productions, the WiiWare project mentioned during the chat can now be unveiled as being a family-friendly card game that caters for up to four players on one single console, with each person battling against the clock to make the best five-card hand possible. As Higgins states,

"Battles are played across multiple rounds with points scored for each round based on the quality of the hand. Each player uses a Wii Remote to point and click on a deck of cards laid across the screen. The first click flips the card over at which point it can be grabbed by anyone else. You've got to have fast fingers and eyes if you're to grab the cards you need before someone else snatches them from you."

The team's goal with this project was to "...create a fun game that could be played by the whole family - from the kids all the way through to the grandparents."

Apparently the game is almost complete and should be arriving on Wiiware in the near future. For now, the first ever screenshots can be seen in the media folder below...
