Hanabi Festival Returns for Aussie Virtual Console

By Shane Jury 02.05.2008 1

The Hanabi Festival, where previously unreleased titles in a select region are put on the Virtual Console, is back for the Australian V.C.

It is unknown if the Festival period will be longer than a week, like last year, but according to Aussie-Nintendo, three titles have been put up on the Virtual Console today;

Columns 3 Revenge of Columns from Sega's Mega Drive at 900 Wii Points
Gradius 2 from Turbografx CD at 900 Wii Points
Final Soldier from TurboGrafx-16 at 700 Wii Points.

It's highly likely that the Festival will make an appearance in other regions soon, although nothing has been confirmed.

Update;

It seems that the same three titles released on the Australian Virtual Console have been introduced to the European equivalent too!

And the Hanabi Festival looks set to continue over the coming weeks, with these titles confirmed to appear;

Star Parodier (Turbografx)
Puyo Puyo 2 (Sega Mega Drive)
Gley Lancer (Sega Mega Drive)
Digital Champ: Battle Boxing (Turbografx)
Cho Aniki (Turbografx)
Break in (Turbografx)

It is unknown at present if these will be the only titles to appear.

I was so happy for a very brief moment Smilie

I hope your right, I am itching for something new and cool. I hope they do the whole theme thing again also, this time with RPGs so we get Earthbound.

Gradius 2 is OK but Gradius 3 which we got on our last Hanabi is far better. Final Soldier is a good game.
