New Prince of Persia DS Info, Wii Version Still Possible

Ubisoft speak more on the DS version of the new Prince of Persia title, and mentions the likelihood of a Wii Version.

Speaking to UK magazine Edge, Ubisoft's Ben Mattes, producer of The Two Thrones and its ports, talks of how the idea of a possible Wii version is being treated 'very seriously'.

The game ships on PS3, 360 and PC later this year, but a complementary DS title is also in the works. 'It's connected to the game in a very interesting way, but it's not a port. A complementary experience, shall we say?' And the prospect of a Wii Version? 'We ported Two Thrones to the Wii. It was a quick and dirty port, i can say. With that we saw a lot of potential. The controls were not fully optimised, did not take full advantage of the Wii, but a lot of people saw the POP universe could certainly have a home on Wii. Since then people have been looking into that, but there's no formal announcement. We are investigating it very seriously. You would never see a port of the game we're making however. That'll never, never happen.'

The DS title is expected to release later in the year.

Have you played the game is the question I put to you D.

Unfortunately, I was one of the many sheep who got caught up in the hype and made a first day purchase. To that end, it's probably why I was so angry with the game for not living up to expectation.

As a living, breathing world? Top marks.
As a video game? Certainly not able to keep my attention for more than a couple of hours.

I really should have checked the reviews, but there you go. Smilie

Fair enough D at least you were informed about the game, seen far too many people putting it down without actually playing it.

But yeah once again fair enough.

I put it down because it was Ubisoft's big game. The one they milked the Wii to make the money for. The one that everyone said was going to be so amazing. And when it came to it, it didn't live up to it.

Then I got it myself, and I put it down because I've played it and am able to Smilie

That's what I thought. AC is a PoP clone, not the other way around.

Wow that was blunt. I guess Ubisoft hate Nintendo afterall. Stop making crap like PoP and make moar Animalz games please.

    lol

Welll i doubt all of Ubisoft hate Nintendo, There is Red Steel 2 coming out this year

cause they know were all gonna buy it becasue there isn\'t one decent fps on wii.

Their Wii and Ds support is nothing but shovelware to finance their big budget titles.

amen to that brother! and where are all there big budget titles going? To the next gen consoles ofcourse.

You would never see a port of the game we\'re making however. That\'ll never, never happen

BULLSHIT you\'ll probally feed the wii a shit port for the least money possible.

You forget to take into to account that Assassin\'s Creed sucks.

OMG!OMG! AS was fucking brilliant! I loved it! Assassin Smilie . I just love free roaming!

Echoes NOTHING has been announce it\'ll probally be shit anyway

Depends if you like PC gaming or not. I personally can't stand it, at all. If I could have a choice of playing it on console I'd choose console any day.

However I've been playing lotsa retro Sonic mods on my PC lately, which are all wicked. (I need a 360 pad to use for my PC...)

incidentally, I own 2 360 pads already. Is there a way I can use them with my PC as they are or do I have to buy more controllers for the PC? :/

I think they'll just continue to milk the Raving Rabbids franchise now, instead of actually bring a proper PoP game for the Wii. It's just becomes an easy target for casual games.

Warrior Within was not a bad game at all. The Dahara chases were exhilirating and while it had a very different and gothic feel it was not a bad game IMO.
Ask for my 3DS Friend Code, especially if you play Mario Kart 7 or Zen Pinball. I need to expand my friend list!

yeh but they tried ot make it more free roaming which didnt work at all, pop games are meant to be linear like sands of time and two thrones. ww did not have that essence and combat was too focused on insted of puzzles and death defying stunts. two thrones managed to throw in the right balance of combat, puzzles and stunts, and charriot racing (which wasnt fantasitc) that gave you a nice enough break from the regular.
o and its Dahaka, not dahara XD
o yeh did you guys notice my sig statement is the first line of sands of time and the last line of two thones ^^
PoP to the core i am!
