A gorgeous classic 2D Metroid tribute has come about: SR388, with improved sprites, effects and more.
The game appears to use the Super Metroid sprite and incorporating elements from the original outings on the NES. Running in a gorgeous 60fps, we've got some slick and absolutely gorgeous movement from the blond bombshell as she ventures across some classic environments.

Ah well, this looks pretty good. Being a fan game I sure hope they don't make their own story.
I guess this is the result of angry fans too tired of waiting for Dread.
And it had better not be Flash.

The HD sonic game has one concept screen and some pieces of art, this has a proper in-game trailer

Arg, okay, so what about Sonic 1 Megamix?
Since this seems to use pretty advanced graphics I'm doubting it's a ROM. It's probably an individual download or something.

Yeah, I thought it was a remake of Metroid 2 from the Game Boy. After Nintendo remade the first game and added extra stuff for Zero Mission, I thought the GB game was due a makeover...

They're going to have found out by now. Cease and desist is likely on the way, but if they have any sense they'll get these guys on board WiiWare in some way.

Nintendo aren't talent seekers... they wouldn't awknowledge talent like that if it was put in their face...

6457 723 05.09.2004 noneNintendo are abhorrent cash whores who are extremely stubborn when it comes to anything they even partly own. Look at the GoldenEye XBL debacle. Wii gamers had everything to gain from that deal- all of Rare's N64 titles on the VC. But no, Nintendo turned it away.

Although in another alternate universe, Metroid games are the only games that have ever been made, and there are 21 billion of them.
