A gorgeous classic 2D Metroid tribute has come about: SR388, with improved sprites, effects and more.
The game appears to use the Super Metroid sprite and incorporating elements from the original outings on the NES. Running in a gorgeous 60fps, we've got some slick and absolutely gorgeous movement from the blond bombshell as she ventures across some classic environments.

I must be the only person who thinks this probably won't be so great...
It won't have the story of the Metroid games for one. That's part of the package for me, and it's why IMO Fusion is the best title in the series. Graphics don't make me want it :/

DAYUM! Looks tight, fresh, must follow this and hope for it to be finished soon. Oh, and I don't mind the sound effects, it's nostalgic.
