A recent listing on a US retailer's site suggests that Samba De Amigo will be the first Wii retail title to utilize the Pay to Play system.
The boxart, on Gamestop, features the Red Nintendo Wi-Fi connection symbol, a sign of the Pay to Play feature that mainly refers to paid downloads, as in Wiiware title Final Fantasy; Crystal Chronicles.

Nintendo hasn't been completely clear on the requirements of the Pay to Play system, so it is largely unknown as to how it could be used here.

It does certainly look like it will have DLC of some kind if it has the red logo, it's the first red logo we have seen on boxart to date. I could see Christmas theme packs coming as DLC.

Downloadable songs ect are fine and make sense, if priced right. (especialy if its lisenced)
Of course, if its subscription, then they are off their rocker.
Subscriptions will only be tolerated for a continious stream of new content.

I do hope it isn't a 'pay to play at all' as in MMORPG, because that's something I hate. But I don't think they will go that far.
And even if they do: It's no title I want to play much at all, because I don't know the original game. Maybe it's great, ho knows? But it's Sega we're talking about. A good game by Sega is not easy to find...

Downloadable songs would be the obvious thing in this case I would think.

As long as Pay To Play is only dlc and not any WiFi related activity I'm fine with it.

It won't be pay to play online, it's either costumes or more likly additional tracks even the dreamcast version had downloadable tracks.

The Wii will have to puke out it's internal organs through a USB slot in order to make room for it. (HDD plz)

Maybe they'll also have a song-maker feature utilizing the MP3 capabilities of the Wii. ULC+DLC?
