Rock Band Track Pack Cheaper than DLC

Some digging into Harmonix's pricing for the Wii/Playstation 2 additional songs disc have made it slightly cheaper than downloading.

Despite not being able to download additional material after purchasing Rock Band, Wii owners will have access to songs via an expansion disc. According to MTV Multiplayer, Rock Band Track Pack Volume 1 hits retail retail on July 15 at an MSRP of $29.99.

Those who intend on purchasing the current extra songs library may just see better value on the Wii, with all 20 tracks being considerably cheaper to buy as a CD, as opposed to downloading. Xbox360 and Playstation 3 owners can select individual tracks for $2 a piece, making the entire selection $40 in total, $10 higher.

A decent deal, or should downloadable content really have been something for the Wii. We're looking at you, Nintendo!

Wow! They did it. It's great, that when not being able to download these songs we can buy them at retail. I hope Guitar Hero 3 does the same. I'm looking at three games worth of songs (GH 1 and 2, Rock the 80s) plus DLC for GH3. certainly a pack I will buy IF I buy Rock Band for Wii.

It's good these are available but I'd still rather download them as singles. That way I only pay for the tracks I want.

This is assuming you want all the tracks, which believe me you don't.
It'll be amazing and you jolly well know it.

I knew someone was going to say that. Can't help but say I agree with you. Still better than no extra content at all though.

Yes, exactly. I know I wouldn't have all the titles, but better then having none. And when I save 10 bucks, then I think it will be a zero equation against downloading them, because in every package I only encounter one or two titles I want.

I would much prefer freedom of choice when it comes to tracks, still, this is a good quick fix to the DLC issue here.

Exactly, it would be alright if you wanted all the tracks. Unfortunately there's only about seven tracks in the pack that I want.

Even if you did want all the songs I don't think it would justify the rip-off price for PAL regions intial purchase price.

Bored of these rhythm games, so I don't really care which one's cheaper.

Same, though the AUS version might be more convenient for me. We'll see.

Convenient? You mean just dodging the whole annoyance of buying over the net, postage shit etc.? Cause I agree with you there, I've always preferred to just walk into a shop and hae it done with but the AU price will probably cost more than a Wii. More than a Wii!

I suppose it'll cost a fair bit for postage though, being so big and heavy and all. Just have to see when it's finally released over here.
