The deal between Activision and Dreamworks Studios, on Videogame tie-ins to their animated movies, looks set to end soon, and THQ appear to be next in line.
According to MCV, the arrangement that started in 2005, will not be renewed at it's five year gap in 2010. The last game planned before the deal ends will be Shrek Goes Fourth in spring 2010.
DreamWorks Animation head of consumer products and worldwide marketing Anne Globe stated that the expiration of the Activision deal was the studio's first chance in a long time to go back out to the market.
THQ has pitched for, and obtained, the rights to the game adaptation of Dreamworks' autumn 2010 movie release, Master Mind, although it is unclear at this point as to whether this will happen for all of Dreamworks' subsequent releases.
Activision will continue to have the rights to make games based on sequels to films it has already adapted.

We found we had interest from a number of the top publishers. THQ was the most enthusiastic and came in with the most competitive bid.

tiamat or tiamat1990I doubt they need it now. They've got freaking Guitar Hero and Call Of Duty.
