Some say time is like a river that runs fast and smooth, but i have seen the face of time, it is an ocean and a storm.

Link / SuperLink9I don't know how to follow a patronising on-screen tutorial telling me to shout stuff at my dog, so this sounds really good.
I bet the parents think this is serious shit.

jbcubed3.It's a bit stupid for a company that touts these games as easy to pick up and play for all to have to host lessons on how to play.

Aye. The hypocrisy is unfathomable! (Which is part of what's so cool about it)
Maybe Nintendo love the media attention. I can see the headlines now:
NINTENDO NEED TO TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO PLAY GAMES, THEY ARE LIARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111 SUE THEMM NAO!!

none'should bring a copy ... if they have one'.
If not, we can sell you one. If you don't have the other, we can sell that to you too. Oh, if you already have those, how about the companion Nintencats, Nintenlions, Harvest Moon, Horsez, etc. We also have shiny new DS colours, novelty Nintendo pet leashes, alcohol for the parents, to make the time go by faster.
All for a price.
It is a targeted sales opportunity.

noneYou never know. A lot of older people don't know how to work a VCR or a DVD player. I imagine this is for people like them. An introduction to games in general, with simple games I guess. Although, I don't know how these people would own a DS and one of the games. I guess they'll borrow one if they're this desperate to learn how to play video games.

noneIt's not such a daft idea, just another form of marketing (which Nintendo suddenly seem to be more innovative with).
Another example is what my Mum is doing later this week. She's fairly high up in the WI (Women's Institute) and so gets to go down to their training centre in Oxfordshire for a day playing on the Wii - especially Wii Fit!
Nintendo get the message out to another group of people (mostly older women) about how much fun their products are when those people would otherwise never consider gaming at all.
