It's not because he's a n00b. it's because it's been done loads of times before and he's just trying to get his post count up.

Saying 'Wil it rock or will it suck?' really doesn't deserve a reply. It's obvious he's trying to boost his post count.

Actually I am trying to see if I can get some different opinions of the forthcoming Metroid Movie. This is what the first post of this topic refers to.

perhaps giving your own opinion would be a way to get people to take the thread seriously?

Depends on director and casting abilities. If you got a good director and good cast and of course some money then it could turn out to be a good movie.

Cubed3 Member

Yeah i rekon it will be a good movie...yeah i rekon

Please calm down Rob - this post is perfectly valid. There shouldn't be strict criteria to people posting in their own way, it's not spam or a bad post so if you're ranting on then you're making the "problem" worse. If you've got nothing to add, or want to "advise" a member, then PM or alert a moderator.

Returning to topic,

A metroid film seems interesting though I guess there'll definitely be people who want it to be of a certain standard because of the sucess of the past games. I'm not against it, but I hope if it's made they start from scratch, and tell the story - and not throw together some action scenes that'll leave normal movie-goers a bit confused.

Mel Gibson in a Metroid movie should be suitably hilarious.

Its been a while since I have read anything on this movie, anyone got a legitimate link with this information? As frankly I doubt its being made.

No Progress on the Metroid Movie
Source: GameSpot, insaneMoViEgoer
August 23, 2004

Producer Yoshio Sakamoto says that not much is happening on the Metroid movie front.

Back in April, it was announced that John Woo had optioned Nintendo's best-selling video game franchise for the big screen. Woo would produce the sci-fi movie and has the option to direct. The plan was to release the first film in the franchise before 2006.

Sakamoto tells Nintendo Dream magazine that there are actually no plans at the current time for the movie to begin production.

"There's been no progress ," comments the game's producer. "There were some misleading reports before the E3 that Metroid's production was confirmed. But to be accurate, it's that the company that John Woo works for has gained the rights to negotiate with Nintendo of America to make Metroid into a movie. Metroid's production hasn't been officially decided yet, and there's no release plans for it."

Reports said the movie will center on the origins of the game's female protagonist, sexy bounty hunter Samus Aran, and relate her adventures battling the insidious life-sucking Metroids and their controlling force, Mother Brain.

This will be one of the worst films ever.

How can a game bout exploring translate to a film where you can do no exploring?

It will have very little diologue, that's for sure. Other then that I don't know what to expect.

Cubed3 Member

the fact that samus basically doesnt talk and shes on her own for most of the time makes this movie a leedle stupid..

Cubed3 Member

Exactly what I meant. Very little diologue. They'll have to make it slightly different. Maybe she'll return to base every so often.

Cubed3 Member

if it is made, i cant see it working.
