From spending too much time on rotten.com I have devised this thread.

What's the worst injury you've sustained in your lifetime?

I've never done anything that bad, but I fell on a bonfire when I was little which burned loads most of the skin off my palm. You can hardly tell now though.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I have fractured a tiny bone in my right little finger back in Year 6.

Other than that? Nothing.

was playing tag in a shoe store and tripped over a pair of shoes, tripped and rammed my head into a mirror. Cracked my skull and needed stitches sewed in.

I still have the mark and have since gotten the name "harry potter" by many.

um.. got hit by a car at 30mph and broke my forearm, other than that I've been fairly injury free.
(And to be honest serves me right for running accross a 5 lane main road..:lolSmilie

I broke the same arm twice (same bit) in the space of a few years, got it pinned both times in two places (pins stuck out my arm, had to be pulled out with anesthetic...painful). Broke it right on my growth plate (not good) and it started to swell up in the temporary plaster that was put on so I had to go back to A&E at 4am as my arm was about to break itself by swelling up in a rock solid plastercast that was put on wrong. Other than that I've cut off a bit of my finger with a knife (whilst cutting cheese, the cheese was good so it was worth it) and did something very painful to my back that involved all the muscles contracting in on my spine. I was put on a spinal board with a neck brace for that one (hideoulsy uncomfortable) and it felt like someone had a massive vice around my torso for about an hour. I literally couldn't move with the pain.

That's about it. More soon...

Once I was sitting in a science class (about 4 years ago) and I suddenly felt this enormous pain like a knife being pushed upwards into my heart from inside my chest. I've no idea what it was but everyone there thought I was being an attention seeking twat.Smilie

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

My keens are very adventurous. Most people's knees are complacent on their monotany. They back and forth, back and forth without so much as a single weary sigh.

For my knees, this isn't good enough. They want excitement, adventure, and really wild things. "Back and forth?" they say, "Fuck that! We're going sideways!"

And that's why I no longer play basketball.

Fell out of my top bunk when 7. Knocked out my two front teeth at christmas oddly...(you know the song Smilie). They've led to lots of surgeyr and stuff for about 8 years. I finished last year when I finished my brace, but now they've moved again. I was lucky not to get an extremely serious injury because, if I landed on my head I could have easily broke my neck.

Other than that, I have a craft knife scar on my little finger.

Worst? Nothing worse than spraining my ankle 2, stepping on a piece of a broken mirror and going into shock from the bleeding.

Cut my finger off.

Ditto, kinda: it was my fingertip (with the whole nail), cleaved off in the door when I was 6 so I barely remember the pain nowSmilie

When I was about 5 my Sister picked me up by the legs, span me round and then let go, sending me hurtling into a desk in the process. Apparently I needed stitches but I can't remember.

Also broke my wrist once. I think I may have broken it again but I wasn't sure and the pain stopped after about a month.

I've been relatively injury free. Smilie

I think the worst that's ever happened to me is when I somehow stubbed my toe when going down the stairs. I'm guessing I broke it....it hurt for about a month and I couldn't put any weight on it for the first two weeks.

In P.E., we were on the football field (American football, mind you) and I caught the football wrong. I thought I had just jammed, but it hurt for about a month and it's been a year now and there's still a bump on my finger. Probably healed wrong. Doesn't hurt anymore though. I made the touch down though, darn it Smilie

Other than that I've had some close calls. I was climbing a tree, and I got pretty high up (I guess 15 feet or so), and then I fell head first. Amazingly, my legs caught on to the last two bottom branches and I was hanging up side down like on the monkey bars. That was kinda scary...but now I can hang up side down from that tree Smilie

Another time we were in a car wreck. What happened was the guy who hit us hit the brake, but his foot slipped, which meant he slammed the gas pedal, and then he hit us. We were in the highway, but we wound up hitting the pole of a big sign for a restaurant. My mom said she was afraid the pole would buckle and the sign would fall and crush us. We also just happened to land on the gas pump thing or whatever. At first we just sat there trying to calm down, then my dad realized we were on top of that and told us to hurry and get out. Nothing blew up....now that woulda been a real story Smilie
Anyway, the worst injury out of that was my brother cut the skin above his eye...he ducked his head into his coat and cut it against the zipper. Also he had a ice cream cone...didn't spill a bit after all that Smilie

Umm..I broke my right arm twice...... doing the same thing and had to get a shoulder cast one of the times . I also fell and hit my face on a stone fireplace and ripped my nostrol off (got it sowed back on haha) and up above my eye and got stiches in both places. I also broke my pinky and my toe playing football (the American kind) . I also broke my sisters arm and my brothers foot (both accidents of course lol).

I just now noticed that my level has changed. I used to be level 19, I think almost twenty but I guess something happend to it when the site went down.

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

Broke my LEFT wrist (thus, not a wanking injury). was about ten years old. Climbing a tree to get a ball down. I fell. Yes, that old chestnut. Also, a couple years later (so I was roughly twelve), some blacks in the street decided they'd give me a fucking good hiding for 'looking at them'. They cut my face open with a bowee knife. After that I was named 'Action Man' for the scar on my face. I was so young, though. Now it's completely dissapeared. You'd never even know that it happened.

Sliced my right pointer with a tuna can.

To be open-minded, one must admit the possibility that anything and everything is wrong.

Once broken my fifth metatarsal before it was fashionable (1st day of World Cup 98, day that Brazil beat Scotland).
I once collapsed and crushed an oven, and my personal favorite, sitting in the back of a van which didn't have any seat-belts, and then the driver braking hard. Resulting force shot me forwards, smashing the side of my head against a small metal bar. Cut on the side of my head, (just to the side of my eye) and blood everywhere. Can't remember much else about that...

About a month ago in the space of 2 weeks I managed to hurt myself at work twice:
1st was scraping the side of my arm on a large cage and noticing it only when the resulting blood was wiped all over my jeans;
2nd was cutting up boxes with a stanley knife, not looking where my thumb was. You can guess the rest...

Cubed3 Member

I have broke my wrist, broken two knuckles, stepped on a nail, and was pushed off my bunk bed by my brother and hit my back on the way down, so I had to get twelve stitches.

oh ive jumped onto a rusty nail which went into my ankle before.. forgot about that.

A friend of mine also had his fingers run over by a (sharp) ice skate- you can still see a big dent in his finger from it.

Staff Member

Cut my thumb off when I was an ickle kid so have a scar for that but otherwise I've never had any other serious injuries at all.

*Touches wood*
