Been looking forward to We Love Katamari on PS2 for a while, but Play.com were sold out last time I checked, GAME have a dispute going on with EA STILL (GAME and EA have been feuding for a while for those who don't know, GAME deliberately not stocking EA games/not promoting them, etc.) and so it's not on the shelves, and I refused to pay the outrageous

Fun game. I rented it once, and I also have a demo. Don't think I'll buy it though, novelty is a big part of the game, and once it wears off, it's still fun, but not enough for me to buy it.
Just my thoughts though.

I got it for my sister. It's definitely one of those art-directed games like Shadow of the Colossus, ICO or Killer 7. I love the noise he makes when he walks.

To be open-minded, one must admit the possibility that anything and everything is wrong.

I can't remember exactly, but there was word of it before Christmas on Gaming-Age Forums I think. If I'm right, EA wanted more money for their games, and GAME was very begrudging about it. They sent a memo around telling their employees not to promote EA merchandise so that it didn't sell and had to be discounted (hence the swift discounts on EA software before Christmas - SSX was one of the games hit I think), then this memo leaked, making everything all that worse. I've no idea if it's been fully resolved, but even if it has then this Katamari understocking is probably going to cause more trouble. I can't confirm any of the details written here, though, simply because I heard it second hand and it was a few months ago.

If you love the demo, get the whole thing!

It's out on PSP in the US now, isn't it, or at least will be soon if not already...? Shame all went quiet on the rumoured DS version, as the stylus would be perfect for it!

Is the pushing mechanic similar to that on Billy Hatcher?

The PSP version, Me & My Katamari, is coming soon in USA (don't think it's out yet), and I really have my doubts as to how it'll work without dual analogues. I doubt that thumb slider is going to be anywhere near as good.

Hmmm...sortof, but not as irritating (I have to say, I hate Billy Hatcher with a passion. Tried to love it because it was Sonic Team, just couldn't in the end). Rather than you being able to drop your katamari like you would with the egg in Billy Hatcher, you're constantly attached to it, so you're not going to go dropping it. Rather than bouncing the ball up onto platforms, you get it as big as you can and push into things to move up to higher ground, climbing higher as you get bigger. Steering is also far easier.

This is one of the few games I wish I had a PS2 for. so annoyed it's a Sony exclusive (so far...).

When it was announced that it was coming out on a *portable* people assumed that it would come on the DS, but it was actually being developed for the PSP.

I'm with you. This looks really interesting too! It's style reminds me of Chibi Robo.

There's just been so much dryhumping on the designer's leg. He's like the wonderboy of the dev community at the moment. There must be some good reason for it. Damn, I want to play Katamari Damacy...

I was also failing to believe the hype, but I needed to see for myself. It pretty much lives up to it.

I spent about 2 hours rolling around last night, firstly around a boy's bedroom cleaning up his sodding mess, and the second time in a gigantic flower garden complete with animals and people, who I also rolled up. Literally about an hour on each level. There was no boredom at all. I was falling asleep at the end with a combination of it being so dreamily good, me being knackered and it being really relaxing. I dreamt about Katamaris, dammit.

...And then you played Katamari?

Question is whether to get the ps2 or psp version.
Anyone played both?
