Having gone to the extent of trying to look up my age to make an issue out of it (again, pay attention - him, not me), he makes light of the 0. Then he begins to troll me - baiting me to respond in a way he can complain about. Hey, is that my wife and children he brings in to further attempt to troll me - why yes it is. He goes to town on the trolling in the last line doesn't he - attempts to imply that I am a neglectful father anyone? Apparently he also, without supportive evidence, attempts to portray me as attacking teenagers. Where was that GR - links? I don't know the ages of the people I talk to. I talk to them as an equal.

So how did I respond to a now sustained and unpleasant trolling of me?

If that wasn't intended to provoke, I don't know what is. I don't there is a single member on C3 who would expect a positive response from that, or indeed anything but a negative one.

I would have said the same to Frazzle, but as far as I know he has a fairly amicable relationship with Joe, and an argument didn't develop from it.

Anyhoo, I'm more than aware that arguing with you is, as you love to say "an excercise in futility", so I am happy to let anyone draw their own conclusions.

Well correct me if I'm wrong, but Frazzle's comment was directed at Joe, who is, like Oni, a founding member of said other site. Doesn't seem like your remark was directed at somebody who isn't here.

At any rate, even if your comment was only directed at Oni, you could not have assumed it was acceptable to direct insults at him simply because he isn't here; firstly, if anything is pathetic, that is, and secondly, clearly there are plenty of people who would take offence.

OK, I think the oldschool bashing is going a bit too far in this thread (and its pretty off topic - hey we dont want cubed3's forums completely screwed up). We all know our opinions of each other by now and whilst I doubt this will change it's just going round in circles now.

Oldschool happens to be a very agreeable soul so I find the comment that he dissagrees with everyone simply not true, the very fact he treats members with all ages with the same degree of respect proof of this.

He has no growing up to do my my estimation, there are people on this site that feel aggrieved at Oni's departure. In few places Oldschool has merely pointed out the hypocracy of Oni's goodbye statements and furthur. Few on this site have jumped on those words with vigour and have attacked Oldschool in posts in a mildly abusive way, even a moderator. It needs to stop, people need to calm the fuck down and even anything that can be seen to be inciting more disharmony needs to be bottle necked, that's where you hope moderators come in and to "settle" disputes peacefully. While Oni was seen to be a good member in some eyes he was not appreciated so by others, that's simple difference of opinion, difference of opinion that should not result in this nonsense.

When you have grown up Takeo, and you had had a family that you have witnessed flourish, you may be then be able to pass judgement, until then any one of your age making such a comment is nonsense. Time for everyone to chill the f out and get on with a "nicer" C3 {LS]

It all started with that Sidepocket/Oldschool fiasco. Those two were fanboys to the very core. I was getting abusive messages from the pair of them (both on the forum and off it), and they basically wanted me out. I couldn't believe it. Two n00bs fresh off the boat were ousting me! Justice prevailed, in the end (ha!), but only after a long, dogged battle. You guys remember Gastrian? He told me that they were basically complaining about every post I made, and that the mods were themselves getting accused of being 'biased', etc. It seems, they took matters into their own hands after not getting their own way. Sidepocket ended being banned, and Oldschool threw a big wobbler, and left pretty disgracefully, going back to wherever it was he came from.

To clarify, that is all that Oni said about you, Oldschool. Other than the fact that you might disagree with his insinuation that you were a fanboy, I would say that there is actually very little personal judgement of you there; in fact, almost nothing in comparison with the venom that you have come back with. You have widly exaggerated this supposed "attack" against you. As for "right of reply".. surely that is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS, given that Oni can't even read this!

There, for comparison, is your leaving post, replete with a last jibe at Oni using the content of your original post that started the whole thing.

Now, as it happens, I would say that Oni's little description of the events that lead to you leaving the site was actually pretty accurate.

You may not be a "fanboy", but, and I am fairly sure other members can vouch for this, every time Oni posted anything critical of the wii, politely phrased or not, you flagged it as trolling.

Now we can have the debate about whether it was or it wasn't, its irrelevant. The point is, the mods, as a collective, decided it wasn't, and you refused to accept our decision, branded us as biased and publically continued to accuse Oni of trolling.

When it finally came to a head, and you realised that I was not going to be goaded into banning you, and that at the same time we were not going to change our minds and define what Oni was doing as trolling every time, you left the site.

Of course, we couldn't fulfill your demand, it was impossible; it would have meant deleting virtually anything said that was critical of nintendo, and classifying "opinions" as offensive, rather than behaviour. The C3 Mods are not censors of opinion, and I hope to god that they never are; they are censors of behaviour.

In your frackas with Oni, it is you who behaved poorly, throwing around accusations, making a public spectacle of yourself, and generally being an utter pain. Oni, in contrast, was actually pretty damned reasonable about it- polite, for a start, and not starting public outcries and ruining the forums.

The fact of the matter is, you didn't get your way, on a very small encounter, and you have such a distorted vision of yourself as some kind of political crusader (and I mean, for gods sake, this is a nintendo forum, not the UN, please stop all the pretentious rubbish about "right of reply"), that you were unable to accept the authority of the people who moderate the site.

I wasted a good week or so of my life, exchanging thousands of words with you, only to be insulted and called biased, blind, ignorant and so on. I can honestly tell you, prior to your drama, I had pretty much nothing to do with Oni- I had NO pre-existing bias. The mods made a decision, and on that, I, as well as Matt, stuck to my principles, and upheld it.

You can paint yourself the victim all you like, but you created this situation, by refusing to co-operate with the rules of the site. In fact, your actions showed an utter lack of respect for the site, as you were happy to ruin threads, ignore moderator instructions, and just generally be an annoyance, to further your own personal agenda.

I have generally prided myself, in a good few years of moderating this site, on being able to remain entirely level headed when dealing with conflicts on the site.

You, however, have really tested my patience. It does not surprise me one jot that members like Joe and Oni reacted rudely to you; though they broke the rules in doing so, the fact remains, in dealing with you, it is almost impossible to remain polite, simply because you twist and turn, ignore points, state points ranging from half trues to out and out lies, are utterly condescending, and also completely insulting, yet totally self righteous at the same time.

Once upon a time, you might have had a point, because its certainly true that Joe, Oni, and others that you have targetted, have had behavioural issues on the site.
It is probably that which made it easier for you to make illigitimate claims about them, and unfortunately some people seem to have fallen for it.

However, you have now blown it, so badly, and so completely, and what is more, you seem incapable of honest retreat.

If anything is the cause of strife on this forum, it is you, because you were the great exacerbator, the great aggravator.

Prior to your involvement, though we had pro and anti nintendo members, they rubbed along fine, and where there were disputes, they could be hastily resolved. Due to your intractable nature, you, however, have blown the situation incredibly far out of hand, and the consequences of this have been extremely bad for the site.

You may view the departure of members like Oni, Joe and others are a good day in your books; it is, nonetheless, a bad one for the site. Prior to your presence here, these members got along with others relatively well, and with the exception of a few minor incidences, the site was harmonious. Recent events may have tainted memory, but judging by various tributes, it is certainly true that many members recognise we are losing some of our most erudite, intelligent, interesting and entertaining members.

It is a shame that you never actually knew them.

Faust beat me to it. I came back after several e-mails from people gleefully announcing the banning of Oni. I thought - why not. I fail to see how you missed that.

You would be surprised by the number of links e-mailed to me and the continued nonsense going on after I left. I stuck by my decision to leave - I am no hypocrite. I saw no reason not to return upon his departure. That coincidence (deliberate choice) has seen me accused of some of the most horrid and bizarre crap ever seen. Stop blaming me and blame Oni. I wasn't around when he got banned - it had nothing to do with me.

Oddly enough Tak, I don't remember ever having an argument with you. I find all of this a surprise - such is life. The only one I remember as a problem is Joe.
