Cubed3 Members Meet-up

So, it was discussed in the past, but who would be up for getting together? There are some real cool people on here, and just myself having happy times when I met up with a few of the other staff at ECTS / GSL one year was a great experience, but would love to do it without having the fact of "working" hanging over us.

If you respond to this, how far are you willing to travel to get to a event? would you need to stay over night? What would you like to have at the event?

Nah, I might be up but finding a central location would be tricky.

Well a central location for the full length of the United Kingdom is Birmningham. The fact it is pretty much central, and all trains run to it makes it very simple to access. Scotland and Wales included!

We'd probably have to look into some legal concerns as well though, not to be condescending the adult members will need to be in charge and there will have to be an age cut-off for the protection of C3's more vulnerable members.

Yeah, 18+ only I think. Much safer.

Not that harsh but younger members might have to be accompanied by a guardian.

What about what the meet up would actually entail? If we're having minors then essentially a piss up wouldn't be on the cards.

Well what I am thinking is during the day we could have food etc and some gaming sessions. Depending on what can be sorted out there could be plenty of more.

But then once finished and whoever is staying overnight could go out for a few drinks!

I think a C3 Day would be a good idea in addition to a C3 piss-up. We hire out a hall or a function room, arrange for TVs, consoles and hotspots to be setup, members come down, enjoy themselves leave when its over and we pack up and leave afterwards.

msenyzsak, you'd only need a weekend or two off work. The planning is the hard part, the setting up and organising can realisticly be done by a few people in their spare time and the actual event would probably need a weekend.
