It's the confirmation that European readers have waited for - the price, the date, and the contents of the Wii when it makes its way to stores later this year. Read on for the official launch line-up for Europe!
Nintendo UK confirmed the details earlier today, covering all the regions for Wii goodies for a 2006 worldwide Wii launch!
We've just gotten word from James (Mr T.) Live at the conference in London…
Launch Date: December 8th
Price: £179 (€240)
Contents: 15-20 Games at launch. Wii Sports bundle as default.
Games: £35-£39 (€49-59)

£180?! Expensive as ever, but expected given how much stuff costs in Europe compared to the US for example.
Games are reasonable price, although could be cheaper to import.
Owch. So a Wii and Zelda will cost £220 on day one... *cringe* Hopefully retailers would do a £199 bundle... please!

7619 184 25.12.2003 C3nin10doIt's only one controller in the console bundle it seems. The mention of the other controller is a game 'Wii Play' with a load of mini-games designed to teach you the remote control play, it comes with a free controller.

I was expecting it to be about £9 to 15 pounds cheaper. If the XBOX 360 does drop in price come christmas, it could seriously rain of Wii's parade. I also wish we has a choice of not having Wii sports as part of the bundle, that way the console would be cheap enough to pick up another game of choice for under £200. The plus side about the launch date is that it gives us time to save more money in order to buy more games with the console.All in all i'm still picking up a Wii with at least 4-6 games. I was going to make it 10 lol
