Huh? Smilie

*reads his own sig*

Ooh! HD Gaming via 360? That's an, um, figure of speech lol. But, yeah, when I have hooked up teh 360 to my friends massive set, it certainly is a lot different. A prime example is Top Spin 2, which in SD looks wonderful, but in HD looks truely next gen. The same can't be said for Hitman Blood Money though, regardless of how good a game it is.

I would consider waiting a year or three before getting a HD set, because the sooner it becomes the standard, the cheaper the tellies will be. Who wants to spend

Some people have been raped by the TV world.

- First, colour television.

- Then "Trinitron" nearly flat screen television

- Then 100hz flicker free television

- Then flatscreen 100hz flicker free television

- Then Flatpanel plasma/LCD television

- Then 100hz flicker free flatpanel plasma/LCD television

- Now HD ready plasma/LCD television.

Imagine if you upgraded each fucking time.

PC monitor FTW!

Get a big, cheap old CRT monitor, HD display sorted. CRT is still heaps bette than LCD, and is still cheaper. Unless you don't have the space.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.
Cubed3 Member

Depends really. LCD can look alot better than CRT, no doubt about it. But its better to go for a good CRT than a cheap LCD. However, the better of the LCD's do pwn most of the CRT monitors... U can't go far wrong with a samsung:

I ask why stop at 32"? Work in Canada over the next summer and you can clear between 160-500$ a day working in Alberta. Working at a gas station your garenteed 10-14$ an hour and you get 1000$ bonus just for agreeing to work. At SuperStore you earn 9.80$ an hour and get a 1000$ bonus every 400h.

Next Summer I plan to make between 20 000-60 0000$ depending on what I'm doing and the system I'm getting payed on. At least 20 0000 though or 18000us.

I've played 360 on a frankly massive set that was at at least 1080p/i, and it made a big difference. 720p is not that high a resolution, you'd be better off getting a high resolution pc display and playing up close.

Cubed3 Member

If you can afford it and you think its worth it then go for it, but for that price I'd much rather buy a Wii and lots of games. Its not worth the price at the moment IMO. I've tried HD, its good, but I can wait for it to come down in price.

720p would make a vast difference. You wouldnt have played on 1080p GR as thats not suported by the xbox, if you did it would be being upscaled and be crappy. 1080i is most likely what you played but that is not noticeably different to 720p because 1080 is interlaced and thus sucks balls.

Cubed3 Member

the tv definitely had a higher resolution than 720p.. I've seen the 360 running on 720p sets, and while it was better, this was in a league of its own. Anyway, point still stands, if you want to go HDTV, to make a real difference you need to spend a lot of money.

Cubed3 Member

Hmm think i might skip in then, being a student im not supposed to be spending like... i do Smilie.

Thanks everyone Smilie

Im keeping my old Thomson CRT TV till it breaks down. I dont see the point in getting something that does the same thing but is so much more expensive. It's just a waste of plastic and materials. Companys always have to keep upgrading everything so everyone has to keep buying all the latest technolgy to look good. To me it's ridiculus.

And there was me thinking that companies tryed to upgrade things to gain an advantage over competiters, therefore consumers buy their products and they make money.

And all along they were just doing it to piss everyone off Smilie
