I'm just gutted that SNK has gone to XBLA after showing so much willing to bring its titles to the VC Smilie

"

You pity people that value gameplay and respect the fact that work went into these games?

Would you pity people that enjoy watching classic black and white films?
Why is it so bad paying for old games, yet we dont expect old movies for free do we?
We dont walk into HMV and steal any film over 15 years old...and yet...people think its fine to do that with games.

Its I that pitys you.

The Company is named 'Commodore' with an 'o' as in "no, there's no 'a' after the second 'm'".

Yes. We should appreciate the work people put into these games, since they never got enough credit in this warez-ful times.

And please, don't say 'but they earned enough money, release them for free!'. That's not true, you have to convert these games to Wii, get a server for them, pay the traffic for downloading, maybe pay license-fees and so on. And maybe some get some money for them again (maybe like Factor5 for their wonderful Amiga games like Turrican).
If we still pay some money for it, they maybe will see, that good and innovative games are long-time-seller, since on PC a big game is low-budget after only 6 months. That's very evil for license holders. So a small fee is okay. maybe some 200 or 500 Wiipoints... Like NES oder maybe like SNES-Games.

Hey, why not bringing Amiga-games to Virtual Console?

This means a *lot* to us oldies in the UK. Americans on this board will have no idea of the importance of the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum for UK computing. When the NES was "The Big I Am" in Japan and the States, the C64 and Speccy ruled the roost here (and taught an entire generation how to program).

Hopefully Epyx are not the only C64 company on board, but the Barbarian games, IK+ and California Games are good starts. Also looking forward to Jumpman (oh the irony).

Now just to get the makers of Paradroid and the Last Ninja games interested. I'd also lmao if Great Giana Sisters (infamous Mario carbon copy, with green haired girls, and the subject of a Nintendo lawsuit) appeared on the VC.

As for pricing, these games never cost more than £10 at the time, with many on sale for £2.99. I'd say 50p to £1.50 would be fair.

I played many an Atari 800 version of games also released on the C64. This is great, but in all truthfulness, these games should be priced lower than NES.

Now let's just hope SNK comes around and we get some King of Fighters love. Amiga games would be great too.

Amiga Smilie

Nintendo needs more and more support from 3rd parties, not because the VC will be lacking in titles, but so we can have access to all those greats we may have missed earlier. More games = more "yes!".

If only Nintendo and Microsoft made a deal where Rare's games were available on the VC and XBLA. Everybody wins.

C64 was - along with Amiga - the most important Computer here, they far outclassed all console (i.e. NES) in importance.
Then, Megadrive and NES fought for dominance, so all is together in VC and we can pick our most beloved system and/or games (I was too young to have a console/computer back then) and be all friends.
Yes. Megadrive and NES where like Windows and Linux...

I so hope Amiga will be aboard. But there is no 'Amiga', there's only companies who did Amiga-games. I hope some of them are still there and interested! Rainbow Arts, Attic, Factor5 ...and that where only the german ones(?)
