GOG.com is selling some point 'n' click games for 50% off, making most of them $5.00. Machinarium is what caught my eye. I've been meaning to buy it for a while now.

Kirby's Adventure (Kirby's Return to Dreamland) for £19.99, this is an odd one, GAME have recently put some of their brand-new stock into the preowned section and sell them off for cheap, basically i got a sealed copy of it for £19.99!

Actually paid off going into the store for one as their website is still listing it for £39.99 and £29.99 respectively!

PlayStation running their annual 12 Deals of Christmas. A new deal posted every 48 hours up until Dec 24th. Each deal is available only for 48 hours then it's gone.

First deal has just gone live as we hit Dec 1st:

90-day PS+ subscription £7.99/€9.99 (down from £11.99/€14.99, saving 33%).

This is actually a really good deal, especially with the free games you can get at the moment and will then get for the following 3 months. You could even buy four packs at £32, making a year's worth, instead of buying the flat out £40 one-year deal.

My PS3 60gb just yellow lighted on me yesterday! Wish i hadn't held back with the Wii U purchase now! Anyway, does anyone know of a good deal on a new PS3?

I'll put together a list of the best deals I can find using price comparison sites, if you can hold on.

Okay, here we go, I've ordered them specifically.

You've got the sole 160GB Slim on its own.
Then a bunch of 320GB Slims.
Then the 12GB Super Slims, which I think are worthless.
And finally the 500GB Super Slims.

It wasn't until I saw the final deal that I realised all the other deals are in vain, however. I'm sorry, but that 500GB Super Slim with AC3, 90 days PS Plus and a £20 game is an unbelievable deal and it is the best deal I think anyone is going to find right now. With PS+ you get the Instant Game Collection, with about 12 free games. At the moment the free games are:

Next month we're getting Batman: Arkham City, LIMBO, Vanquish and others. Plus the PS+ discounts and other deals that crop up, and the rest you'll get for 3 months. Is this convincing enough? Hell, you could even sell your AC3 and £20 game if you like! But £230 for all this a steal! Whatever you get, I hope this has helped. But seriously, that £230 deal... Do it.

Edit: Oh I see. The £20 game isn't free -_- You just get one of the games for £20. Which is still good if you get something like NFS or Far Cry. And you could still sell it. Or you could just not get a £20 game at all and still have the fantastic £230 deal.

PS3 Slim 160GB - £199.99

PS3 Slim 320GB - £206.04
PS3 Slim 320GB + InFamous 2 - £239.95
PS3 Slim 320GB + COD: Black Ops - £249.95

PS3 Super Slim 12GB - £135.00
PS3 Super Slim 12GB + Skylanders Giants - £159.00
PS3 Super Slim 12GB + Book of Spells - £179.99
PS3 Super Slim 12GB + Epic Mickey 2 + Any game for £20 from a list + a £5 Move game - £199.99

PS3 Super Slim 500GB - £215.94
PS3 Super Slim 500GB + Assassin's Creed 3 + 90-day PS+ subscription (3 months of top free games!) + Any £20 game from the list - £229.99

Wow! Thats a fantastic post!

I have fallen behind on my gaming knowledge, i am not all to savvy on the PS+ details. I don't really play online, nor do i really download anything...although those free games look good i am guessing i need to maintain my subscription to keep them?  Although i've had most of those freebies and from reading the Wikipedia page it seems like i could retain them but that seems to good to be true.

Now interestingly i am thinking of getting the 12Gb for £135 and transferring my 60gb HDD into the new console. I can also trade my Black SixAxis controller in for £20 as i will be getting a dual shock one in the box making this only around £115....

I am very tempted to do this as unfortunately the Assassins Creed series unfortunately doesn't do it for me....

However i will admit it is a cracking deal but unfortunately not for me!

Thanks for your help though Az!

EDIT: Also i am holding some money back for the Wii U in the new year, could get it now but there isnt really anything on the console that i'd really want as of yet!

Great, as long as you've got some sort of good deal out of it, that's the main thing!

With PS+, yes, you can only have access to those games for as long as you have your subscription. However, for £40 a year (or the £30 I got it for in an offer in September, or currently the offer of £8 for 3 months, making £32 for 1 year), it is a fantastic deal for games that you likely might not play once your sub is up. I mean, in the past there's been Red Dead Redemption which I got for free, which is a brilliant game, but I'm unlikely to play it after my year of PS+ is up anyway, so it doesn't matter. When you add up all the free retail games I'm getting out of it, you're paying off the yearly fee in one month's worth of games! It gives you the chance to try out a ton of full retail games for free. You can also play 60 minute trials of full retail games. There's an awful lot to it.

All I know about the 12GB Super Slim is that it is Flash memory. I am guessing that you can still connect a hard drive to it, though? It would be a problem if you couldn't. But if you can, then yes, it sounds like you're on to a winner there! I personally find 12GB worthless since I do so much downloading. I mean, many games I have are well over 12GB on their own! But like you say, if downloading isn't your thing, and you aren't too tempted by PS+ (as good as it is!), and of course if you can connect your HDD, go for it!

I can slot out my Harddrive and caddy out of my 60 GB and slot it straight into the 12GB PS3 so won't even look ugly as it will all go inside. I just need to get my data off it somehow. I am going to try the hairdryer technique to get my disc out (FIFA 13) and then try and back up my data as much as i can.

I see that people are selling YLOD 60gb's online, so i might still get a little money out of it yet!

Worth posting in time for Christmas.

Another new PS3 deal on Zavvi:

PS3 Super Slim 500GB + Uncharted 3 GOTY + Gran Turismo 5 Academy Edition - £199.99

Still under the impression that £230 deal above is the best Xmas deal so far, though.

I don't know how often the various indie bundles are mentioned around here, but they're a great source of cheap games that I'll never every get around to playing. My Steam account is like 400+ games by now.

Of course the big one at the moment isn't even indie, it's the Humble THQ Bundle - For 65p, you get Darksiders (a pretty cool game, can't speak for the PC port), Metro 2033 (cool atmospheric shooter), Red Faction Armageddon (you can ignore this one), and the entire Company of Heroes franchise (which I hear is pretty good if you like RTS games). Add a few more quid to get Saints Row: The Third, and you're laughing.

Other bundle companies to keep an eye out for are IndieRoyale, IndieGala and BeMine, each with a new bundle every few weeks.
