Just got the official wifi dongle from gamestation today, tried to install it on my PC and when it gets right to the very end of the instalation (after it read "Setting up internet connection transfer") a big error box comes up telling me to connect the wifi connector to the PC...when it already is connected. So i click ok and the install bar has finished but the dialog reads "Application Error".

Ive cnnected this to every USB port on my pc, no luck.

Anyone help me with this problem?

Sounds like you're supposed to plug it in after you install it, like with most USB thingies.
It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Yea i know that, but it says at the very start to plug it in when prompted...and it does that at the very start.

Edit: Still no luck, it just keeps saying to insert it when its already in the front USB port on my pc, blinking away!

Go here, and download version 1.04 and install your dongle using that...Be sure to uninstall your other software first though.

    Hope that works.

Other than latest firmware, I don't know what the problem could be. Maybe you could ring up Nintendo...

I don't know if this will help, but here is the connection support page for the US wifi hub: Connection Support

Damn, '10do beat me to the post. Smilie

But I have another suggestion..It's possible the problem is caused by leftover files from previous install attempts, so try this.

    1. Run the uninstall tool from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
    2. Remove the Wi-Fi Connector from the USB port
    3. Reboot
    4. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager. Check to make sure that the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector is NOT under the Network Adapters node. If it is, right click on it, select uninstall, then go to step three. If the Connector is NOT under that Network Adapter node, then go to step 5.
    5. Now, we need to search your hard drive for any files that may be left behind. Assuming you have a typical computer setup with no other wireless connections, a good search string is *usbap*. It is very likely that those files should not be there. Move them to the recycle bin.
    6. Reboot
    7. Now, try to install the Wi-Fi Connection Software again.

When you re-install at step 7, use Version 1.04 from the link *ahem* nin10do gave you. Smilie

EDIT: Note that step 5 says to do that if you don't have any other wireless connections...

I've been having a different problem with it...Smilie

I install it, it works fine. I try it out with my DS and 42 All Time Classics works fine over the net. Then I try to set up my Wii and it says "Error blah blah"

    And I have tried EVERYTHING.
