So, who has invested in this little beauty? I have heard many great things about it but if you have got can you tell me what I think, I would be interested to know

Or you could wait for my hardware review later this week...hehe!
Summary: It beats the Super Game Boy hands-down! You can play games full screen or at a slightly reduced size. The latter is generally preferable for most games as things don't get pixellated at all. The full-screen version works best when messing with one of the other options. You can choose Smooth, Sharp or Normal GBA resolution. Smooth can make things look too fuzzy, and on some games (especially if the sharpness on your TV is already set quite high, like it was on mine) Sharp can show the jagged edges in games like Golden Sun far too obviously.
So you should fiddle about with your options depending on the game you're playing.
Wario Ware on the big-screen is delightful, Golden Sun brings back memories of the SNES and Castlevania is less painful than before.
cant wait for the reveiw. plz put up in news to alert us all! as after all the gb player is a big news.
Yeah, no problem. Sorry folks, I'll try and get it done asap. I've got to finish a review I started the other day, then start my Wario World review tonight, and then I'll get to the GBP one hopefully sometime either late tomorrow or the next day.
no probs raz
I won't get it, just doesn't appeal to me.
well i want one. just need some money.
bloody brill, fut snugly under ya cube. looks gr8 takes a bit to get used to seeing ya cube higher. its really good all the potions and stufffs
Metroid Fusion is HEAVEN on a Telly. Far better than Prime, IMHO. Of course, I'm a 2D fanatic...
I'd get it but.... i'm broke

Hey Android, why is MF better than MP IYO? what does MF do that Super Metroid already hadn't done?
Don't bother with the GBA player, if you wanna play SNES ports on yer telly, just get your SNES out of the cupboard and play the originals. Cheaper also.

yes but a snes doesnt have all the new GBA games as well does it? Why are you so against anyone on here buying a GB Player Ikaruga?
cos IMO it's a waste of
I had a look in town for one, and there were none left....anywhere!
Indeed, if GAME in the centre of Manchester were completely sold out the day after the launch it means one of two things:
1.) There's been huge demand for the add-on; or
2.) Nintendo didn't have huge faith in the UK release and only supplied limited supplies to stores.
Now since there has been little advertising so far, I'd have to lean towards the second option. But, hopefully that isn't the case, and No.1 is instead...

It does nothing that SM didnt do all those years ago. Thats why I like it so much. I much prefer the old side-view of SM and MF than the dodgy 3rd person-ness of Prime. But thats just me. Prime IS a great game, and it's very Metroid-ey, but it's not my cup of chocolate milkshake.
As great as 2d games were and are, what possibly is there left to do? I don't see the point playing a game that is virtually identical to a 10 year old game. At least MP offers an experience that feels different, whether it is or not. Just my opinion you understand. Personally I find 2d games restrictive verging on the claustraphobic compared with the freedoms allowed to you in say Mario 64, MP, Zelda 64 etc.

as u said earlier it is all a matter of opinion. & IMO YOU ARE WRONG and u cannot change my mind on something for as long as i think you are wrong. and ithink all that u are saying is wrong.
all IMO tho (except the large chunk of fact)

Calm down! get a grip mate, I'm not trying to convince anyone not to play 2d games. Play whatever you like. (Bit childish using bold no? extremely rude. I can understand your posts without the need to emphasise).
If I'm only stating my opinion, how can it be wrong? if you think that GBA 2d games have anything new to offer that hasn't already been done to death, then fine, but it doesn't make you right.
all IMO tho (except the large chunk of fact)
Very clever putting this in in white text by the way. Round of applause for you!

hey i was only joking. i agree we are all aloud our own opinions as we live in a bloody democracy (socialism is the nxt step up, join the glorius revolution where we wont get stuck with twats like blair and bush!)
hmm do i deteect a little sarcasm with the white bit? i would have put it as the same colour as the background, only i could remember what it was.
The thing is, gaming isn't about doing things new, or innovating, all the time. Sometimes, we like to just play and enjoy ourselves without worrying about new features.
Mainly those of us who grew up with the NES and Super NES will agree with me that although they are limited compared to the games of today, they are still very, very enjoyable. I'd choose Ikaruga over Metroid Prime any day.

ding ding ding. ladies and gentlemen we have a winner.
looks like you summed it up perfectly android18a, gaming is about fun. nothing more nothing less.
I got my GBA player yesterday, I also borrowed Breath of Fire. What an awesome game!
It was one of those games that I wanted to get for the SNES, but I couldnt find anywhere. Fortunately, Rock n Roll racing, another I want to get is also being ported! Along with a few others I want to get.
I love the hardware tho. If you've ever seen a certain snes *m*l*t*r called ****9x, then you will have seen smooth Snes games, think that, and you've got pretty much the GBA Player.
Someone please tell me the rules on the mentioning of *m*lation...
