What is the origin of your online name?

Mine is from when I first started playing online, with the PC edition of Halo. At first I "borrowed" the name King Ping, then I changed it to Tin Can Man for obvious reasons.

Et tu?

Actually, I stole mine from a friend when he stopped using it. It was originally "the evil shy guy" as in an evil guy who was shy, I just used a shy guy with it.

Proud United State-ian

He's not dead, he's electroencephalographically challenged.

Well, my very first name, Cubed3Newbie, was because I was a newbie at C3. Then I changed it to Cubed3XNewbie because I wasn't a new guy anymore, and after that it changed to Shinji Zooka because he was kind of a personal Mascotte I created. Now it's Faust, which is my 'evil other half', and my new mascotte, and the naming comes from my second name, FaustinoSmilie Thought it sounded nice and evil-ishlishSmilie

~Getting on C3's massive tits since 2K5.~

Steve Vice is a product of a wierd transformation of my real name Steffen Isene, I figured the English name that sounded most like Steffen was Stephen, and I took the Is (norwegian for Ice) from Isene and just and ended up with Ice. Then I later changed the name from Stephen Ice to Steve Ice, and being that I listen to alot of 80's music, and I love the pop culture in the 80's I then changed it to Steve Vice (Miami Vice obviously).

It's mostly been used as my artist name for the music project I had going, my but when I got Xbox 360 I started using it as my Gamertag, and now I use either Steve Vice or just Steve (if I can't fit the Vice) in every game I play.

I previously played Quake, and Quakeworld competitively, my nick back then was Max^Damage, from the Carmageddon character.

well mine name comes from... a true story...
some prick said Nintendo is gay... so i beat the shit out of him and broke his nose and he had brain damage and kicked him on the balls... then at the police station the Poliman asked me why did i do it...
i said coz he dissed Nintendo called them gay... and the Policeman said your a "maniac" and i said yes i am.... I AM an NINTENDO_MANIAC... but that chapter of my life is no more... im not like that anymore.. im a changed MANIAC...

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

My name's a strange one Smilie
Basically mij is Jim backwards (my real names Jamie)
and morgs is my second name, Morgan shortened.

My name's Jorge Ba-oh, so yeah Smilie I begun by tagging my initials with stuff I did, so like "JB Games" or what C3 used to be called while I was learning web stuff, "JB Cubed" Smilie

i have been know shaggy or "shagster" at work for about 15 years. more recently it has just been shortened to "shag" which i find hysterical, especially when people shout it down the hallway in my office, when they want to get my attention Smilie

it has become so widespread that even my mother has been known to mention it Smilie

Ummm no real reason thought it just sounded cool years ago, 23 comes from my house number and the T in the middle is just there for no real reason.

Was thinking on changing it to James2t3 but i don't wanna confuse you all like all the bastards that have changed there names over time.

My name comes from MySpace. I was looking at my friend's profile, deciding whether join or not. While scrolling down the page I saw a weird bundle of words that looked something like "zikers". After trying to recreate the word in my head, it looked like "Ziekerz". It's pronounced "zee-EK-erz". I later joined using that as my first display name. I just happened to delete it recently.

After asking the Yahoo Answers community if it had any meaning I got an interesting answer. He said that it could have some roots in German as a type of candle. Sweet, eh?

I just wanted a name that let people know I'm from Australia. Kangaroo Kid sounded cool enough I thought.

I wanted my name to represent a group of persons descended from a common ancestor or constituting a family, clan, tribe, or race. Either that or its just my real name.

Hello!

I got my name from Skies of Arcadia's main character. It was just on hand, I was too lazy to create anything as origonal as u lot.

Enoch Powell was right, and you know it.

I usually go by a different alias, Z was the most random TAG iI have ever had. I wanted to do something quickly, and so just put the first thing that came to my mind.

Dax comes from when i input my name in games except when it ask for a second name then i give it my real name . And there was this other game called futre co l.a.p.d where you are in a walker type machine i called myself ed.209 from Robocop.

My online name is Superlink. RLY? Ya.

Anywhoo, I got the name when I was drawing a Zelda comic, a long time ago, after the main story finished, I had a one page extra comic, about Link & Zelda starring in their own TV show, the first name for the show was "Super Link 9" & that is where the name comes from.

If you will remember, to anyone who has been around that long, my first screenname on C3 was Superlink9, then I got banned for being a n00b, & rejoined as Superlink.

Also, I am sure a lot of you remember around the time where everyone was changing their screennames, for a very long time, my screenname was changed to "Sought The Poltercow", which is a non-lame Sonic fan character. Not a Sonic recolour with spikier hair like the stuff you see around the Internet, a completely original character.

Then as a kind of tribute to my old self, I planned to temporarily change back to Superlink. But it was not really as temporary as I first thought Smilie

By the way, you may have noticed in that post that I used words like "was not" instead of where I would usually say "wasnt". For some reason my aphostraphe button opens the Ctrl+F menu (search) instead!! Smilie Anyone know how to stop that?

EDIT: Woot! New avi! XD

My name's Jamie and my nickname's always been either 'Jambo' or just my surname but for the sake of an online identity I plumped for Jambo. I used to be called Jay but that was nearly always taken on forums so then I went for J. Roc but got bored of that. I'm happy where I am now though.

Also, Jambo is Swahili for hello, I believe, which is quite cool. Jambo was also a Silverback Gorilla that looked after a little kid who fell in the enclosure in a zoo.

Karn Spydar Lee Bianco.

The origin of my real name is always at least a two minute conversation, yet my self-chosen 'could be as interesting as I like to make me seem cooler than I am' user name is dull as hell.

Score. Smilie

My real name: James Temperton.

Mr. T = TV/world legend

Which makes my name. Changed from tempo or tempo88 as it made me sound like some sort of gay club dancer or worse.

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

beamrider2600. Theres a game on Atari 2600, by Activision, called Beamrider. It plays a bit like Tempest, an arcade game from around that time, but its appeal is how well it runs on the 2600, its 3D effect graphics stand out from the rest. I chose it as a screename mostly because it sounded good, it just came to me one day 'I know, I'll call myself beamrider2600'. Also to the best of my memory it was the first game that I ever played.
